Job Purpose

Full-time position in Singapore to deliver teaching on the BEng degree programme in Mechanical Engineering offered jointly by the University of Glasgow (through the University of Glasgow Singapore (UGS)) and Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT); to engage in scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) in order to contribute to the advancement of the discipline and/or its teaching practice at course, degree programme, school, institution and profession and national levels; to undertake administrative and management tasks associated with University of Glasgow Singapore activities. The Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS) cluster at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position specialising in the philosophy of science and technology. Appointments will be made on an initial three-year contract with the possibility of renewal.

We are particularly interested in applicants who can play an instrumental role in addressing questions relating to ethics in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies—both through teaching students who are pursuing engineering, computer science, and architecture majors and through interdisciplinary research collaborations with engineering, design, and computer science faculty.
