Position : Admin Support Officer cum Science Lab Assistant
Contract period : Immediate – 30 Nov 24
Working hours :
7:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Thursday, inclusive of 1/2 hr lunch break
• Fridays: 7:30am to 4:00pm, inclusive of 1/2 hr lunch break
• Working hours may differ during school holidays.
• Required to work during school holiday eg Children’s Day, Youth Day etc
• Service not required during termly school holidays, Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
Job scope :
Assist in preparing materials and equipment needed by teachers for all curricular and co-curricular Science activities.
• Assist teachers in distribution and collection of worksheets and notes, materials, and equipment to ensure smooth
running of activity.
• Assist in preparation of laboratory apparatus, equipment, and teaching materials for scheduled laboratory activities.
• Assist in classroom management in the science lab (e.g group work activities)
• Assist teachers during learning journeys to places of educational interest.
• Responsible for the setup, clean up and general maintenance of the science laboratories and Science areas.
• Assist in maintaining the Science lab equipment and resources (stock-taking)
• Assist in supervising contract workers engaged to maintain the Eco-Garden within the school premises.
• Assist teachers in ensuring students’ safety in the labs and during fieldtrips
• To assist in setting up venues and refreshments for meetings or events
• To provide customer service at the reception counter
• To perform clerical duties assigned by the school
• To assist in any other duties as required by the school
Requirements:
• At least ‘O’ levels qualification. Salary ranges from $1,800 - $2,000 per month depending on qualification and relevant working experience.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in performing roles and functions in providing similar administration support.
• Able to operate electronic devices eg auto-clave, hydroponics sets and other devices relating to Science
• Able to operate technological tools such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel (or equivalent software applications) for data collation and analysis as well as the creation of printed materials.
• Possesses good communication skills to liaise with teachers, students, and other stakeholders
