Job Description
· Lead engaging art classes for children aged 4 to 9 in a small group setting (5:1 ratio).
· Take responsibility for lesson planning, child development, and maintaining regular communication with parents regarding their child's progress.
· Develop and implement curriculum content for the school.
· Conduct classes primarily in Mandarin, with approximately 80% of instruction in Mandarin and 20% in English.
· Ability to read Chinese children's storybooks for storytelling sessions conducted in Mandarin.
· Provide guidance and training to assistant teachers.
· Assist with pre and post-class setup and maintain cleanliness in the classroom.
· Procure art materials as needed.
· Handle administrative tasks such as attendance tracking.
· Manage social media platforms (as needed) including photo/video creation, editing, and responding to inquiries.
· Opportunities for Collaboration: Collaborate with the founder and artists on Pei-Per flower projects and art installations, providing additional creative opportunities beyond teaching.
Requirements
· Diploma/Degree in Art Teaching, Fine Arts, or Early Childhood Education preferred.
· Demonstrated experience in teaching young children under the age of 10.
· Proficiency in Mandarin and English is essential.
· Background in design with software experience in Adobe Photoshop and Procreate preferred.
· Passion for art-related activities including crafting, drawing, and painting.
· Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a love for interacting with children.
· Availability to work weekends.
