Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all costs related to construction projects, ensuring that they are completed within the specified budget and resources. The Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in project planning, cost estimation, and financial management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects, analyzing project requirements and specifications.
- Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, and work schedules.
- Conduct site visits to assess progress, gather data for cost control, and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Monitor and evaluate project costs, identifying any variances and implementing corrective actions.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the best value for the company.
- Provide financial reporting and forecasting for projects, including cash flow management and financial analysis.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure accurate project costing and resource allocation.
- Assist in the preparation of progress claims and final accounts for projects.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in all cost management activities.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all project-related financial documents and communications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Proficient in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
