The candidate will assist with the QA/QC program throughout the design and construction phase of the largest multistory data center in Asia (The Project).

We are seeking an individual with Building Management Systems technical experience for the position of BMS Project Engineer at Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. Singapore operations.  The candidate will work directly with the BMS Project Manager and the subcontractors throughout the design and construction phase of the largest multistory data center in Asia (The Project).

Reporting to the BMS Project Manager, the candidate will be accountable for ensuring the work required; such as, submittals, RFI’s, coordination drawings, updating documents, etc., are complete, ready, and approved for the Building Management Systems (BMS) Subcontractors to perform their scope of work in the strictest of compliance to the contract documents.  This role is focused on working with the Senior Commissioning Manager and BMS Project Manager who are responsible for the BMS Subcontractor operations and installation for a large complex data center project, having stringent technical requirements.

It is expected the candidate will be a very detailed individual with previous experience working as a MEP Project Engineer on data center projects and or other complex technical projects.  There will be a significant amount of “hands on” work coordinating approved design documents and ensuring installed work in the field comply with such documents.  The candidate must have strong Emotional Quotient (EQ) skills and be able to relate to and communicate with the client, the Fortis Construction Pte. Responsibilities:

(1) To take off quantities from drawings and prepare BOQ.

(2) To prepare and submit monthly payment claims.

(3) To evaluate and certificate progress claim of suppliers/ subcontractors.

(4) Taking off quantities, BQ Preparations, pricing, and preparation of tender submission and questionnaires obtain quotation from subcontractors / suppliers.

(5) Coordinate with the contractor/client for the worker deployment.

(6) Project admin and documentation.

(7) Assist in HR and finance related work where necessary.

(8) Any other ad hoc tasks assigned from time to time.

Requirements:

(1) Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying / Civil Engineering or their equivalent.

(2) 1 year of experience in engineering, quantity surveying and contracts administration; fresh graduates are welcomed.

(3) Good at drawing, quantity measurement and materials procurement.

(4) Good oral and written communication skills in English and Mandarin.

Major Responsibilities

• Ensure site operations, including incident management and escalation in accordance with approved Client/JLL procedures.
• Undertake and supervise planned and reactive activities utilizing the CMMS platform.
• To check on site repair and maintenance carried out by subcontractors to ensure work completion.

• Undertake regular inspections of the facility on energy conservation, maintenance practices, utility management and risk management procedures.

Ideal Experience

• Nitec, Higher Nitec or Tertiary qualifications in a mechanical, electrical or operational engineering discipline.
• 2 - 3 years of relevant experience in engineering or constructions services.
• 1 – 2 years’ experience in the operation of electrical and mechanical services in Tier III or equivalent data centre or critical facility.
• Critical environment experience within similar sized site or operation.
• Experienced with continuous improvement initiatives and preparation of reports.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Overall Role

The Technician is to assist the engineer and Technician in day-to-day management of M&E operations and preventive maintenance in our client’s corporate office facilities. He or she should ensure that a high level of professionalism and customer service is maintained at all times and to participate/implement on improvement project.

Major Responsibilities

• Client/Stakeholder Management
• Build strong working relationships with key client representatives and promote company's engineering platform
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of programs and procedures

Site Operations

• Daily shift operational M&E activities, including ACMV, Air Compressor system, UPS, CRAC, Switchgear, Alarm system, BMS system, Access card system, Fire Protection system, Water supply and drainage system, PA system, RODI system and miscellaneous electrical appliances
• Attending to technical-related interior works and faults, including Furniture, Carpets, Walls/fittings, Ceilings and Doors/Glass Doors
• Daily inspection of systems, facilities, System data logging and conducting essential equipment checks and meter readings
• Assist and supervise vendors and contractor services in the premises relating to Corrective Maintenance and Planned Preventive Maintenance and vendor briefings
• Assist during project works and internal Moves, Adds and Changes activities
• Assist in Power Shutdown activities
• Respond to System Alarms and deal with emergency situations
• Write daily shift report and incident reports and assist to analyze the root cause of incident
