The successful incumbent should be able to converse with students and parents who are from non-English speaking backgrounds and be proficient in Chinese, Japanese and Koren to provide assistance for the Teachers.

Main Responsibilities

• A Teacher Partner would directly work with students supporting the EAL Specialist teachers on a daily basis with the educational programme and lead classroom duties such as assisting with classroom activities, classroom projects, project-based learning, vocabulary acquisition activities, speaking modules, listening practice, homework, organizing folders, notifying parents on updates of students and assisting students during activities and breaks.
• Calling of parents and guardians for various matters such as updating parents of student issues or coordinating meetings between parents and FEP coordinator. Assist with translation whenever needed between teachers, parents and students.
• To assist and attend to parents in school , guiding and directing them to accurate places and ensuring parents are not left alone to ensure they do not enter staff restricted areas.
• Receiving and onboarding new families twice a week, including placing new students into their homerooms and elective wheel groups based on data received from Registrar.

Person Specifications
Preferred minimum 2 years of relevant EAL and HRT (Homeroom Teacher - Primary Years) experience from International School.
Undergraduate degree from a recognized university or college.
Teacher professional certification specific to applied position with an ESOL endorsement - (preferred over a CELTA or DELTA).
Possess skills and attitudes aligned to the purpose, mission and vision of XCL World Academy (Singapore).
Need tolerance for ambiguity, clear eagerness, resilience, flexibility, and well-grounded confidence to engage and collaborate in the development of a highly aspirational program.
Have a demonstrated commitment to education and learning beyond the classroom.
Be flexible and willing to take on new challenges.
Clear track record of teaching in international school settings will be required
