Project Overview

This research project aims to grasp dynamic changes in hotel capital investments and their influences on tourism-related local businesses before, during, and after the pandemic on two geographic scales -- region (Asia-Pacific) and city (Singapore). This aim is outlined by the following three objectives:

• Examining the significance of sustainable development attributes in explaining the spatial distribution of new hotel development projects across selected cities in the Asia-Pacific region;
• Estimating the influences of new hotel development projects on the establishment of tourism-small business enterprises within and around hotel districts in Singapore; and
• Drawing evidence-based policy implications along with specific measures for cities to rebuild and expand the capacity of urban tourism in the Asia-Pacific region and Singapore.

Job Description

The Research Assistant (one-year contract) will undertake the following research activities:

• Meeting with the principal investigator (PI) and team members regularly;

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in developing the chassis and mechanical components for a state-of-the-art portable MRI system. This role involves the design and integration of high-precision mechanical components, electronic housings, and thermal management systems, focusing on optimizing manufacturability and durability for portability.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in CAD, additive manufacturing (AM) processes, and a strong background in mechanical design for high-tech medical devices or electronics enclosures.

• Design and develop the MRI chassis and mechanical housing for electronic components, ensuring that all designs meet specifications for strength, weight, thermal stability, and compliance. Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability and assembly, using knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques.
• Develop detailed CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings of chassis, mounts, and enclosures using CAD software SolidWorks. Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and other simulations to assess structural integrity, thermal performance, and material suitability.
• Lead efforts in prototyping, working with AM processes (SLS, SLA, MJF, DMLS, etc.), CNC,or traditional methods to create high-fidelity prototypes.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our interdisciplinary team addressing critical issues in advancing sketch prototype concept creation using Large Multimodal Models (LMMs). This role involves contributing to a groundbreaking project aimed at developing and studying novel means of interaction with state of the art LMMs that the research team will develop.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, refine, and deploy our sketching application
• Collect and analyse data from the prototype
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to integrate LMMs into the sketching application.

To assist EI Educator with the provision of, planning and execution of curriculum under supervision of the Head of Department and Interventionists. Participate in Early Intervention Programme related activities and to provide administrative support to the department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Assist to plan and implement an Individual Education Plan (IEP) for each child in all relevant areas of the curriculum in consultation with other Professional Therapists and Interventionists.

· Prepare and conducts classes for children in Centre both, in a group or individually, in the absence of the Interventionist.

· Contribute to writing projected goals & progress reports in consultation with other attending professionals and Interventionists.

· Contribute to preparation of case conference reports and conducts, under supervision, case conferences with parents/caregivers.

· Maintain close contacts with parents/caregivers.

· Adopt a positive attitude towards team building and work co-operatively with colleagues and parents.

· Assist Interventionists, parents/caregivers in cleaning the students.
