About the Opportunity

As Speech Concept, you will be the primary point of contact for the Community and act

as the "face" of Speech Concept! You will report to your centre each day to support the

rest team to achieve the following:

• Build a welcoming and collaborative community environment through events and building relationships!
• Ensure that your centre is fully operational and processes are running efficiently.
• Drive growth and promotion of Speech Concept-provided service offerings.
• Take direction from the Business Manager to support the team as necessary.
• All of this while illustrating Speech Concept's core values and working towards achieving our mission.

In this role, you'll:

Front Desk Management:

(Being present and contributing to a positive learning environment)

• Cover the front desk during the centre's set business hours1 and be an on-site point of contact.
• Learn the names of students and parents with the goal of building relationships in order to facilitate the sense of community.
• Anticipate students and parents needs before they arise using relevant information collected about members to enhance and personalise their experience.
• Keep the front desk clean and organised.
• Answer any questions from students, parents, new clients and the extended team.
• Organise and follow up on any enquiries in relation to your community.
• Represent our brands and programmes.
• Investigate, escalate, and resolve service recoveries.

Centre Operations:

(Maintain operational excellence)

• Ensure administrative processes and SOPs are observed and completed which includes following up with our Leads and Enrolment pipelines.
• Receive, process, sort, and organise all messages and mail.
• Ensure centre-specific operational requirements are met for each programme (logistics, materials)
• Gather and input notes into our customer relation management system about students and parents.
• Learn and explain Speech Concept policies and procedures and communicate, inform, and update students and parents.
• Maintain the community database and report to the Business Manager with relevant KPls.
• Write and send broadcasts relating to centre updates.

Student and Community Engagement:

(Generating engagement and genuine interest in our centre and programmes}

• Consistently celebrate students' successes and milestones through gifts and notes.
• Distribute all necessary info to promote programmes including creation and posting of weekly events poster and individual event posters.
• Provide feedback on programming types (based on student makeup} and evaluate events based on attendance, satisfaction, and impact on the team.
• Play a creative and executive role in event planning and execution with community
• stakeholders.
• Identify and execute opportunities to connect students with the right programme offerings.
• Learn and understand the in and outs of the local education system (e.g., DSA, GEP, PSLE, 0-Levels and N-Levels, Special Needs Assistance, Preschool} which are knowledge required when conversing with parents.
• Keep the team updated on opportunities for students in your community (e.g. performance, competition opportunities}.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Learning & Development Manager to join our pre-opening team for the Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree.

This will be an excellent opportunity for HR professionals to shape the culture and set the standards for Human Capital practices for the new Resort. The incumbent will deepen and advance their HR career by being involved in the formulation and setting up of the HR department and HR policies for the new Resort.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for cultivating and embedding Banyan Tree’s culture and ethos in the organization.
• Ensure that our vision, mission, core values (IDEALS), Banyan Tree Roots and brand positioning are key aspects of the Resort’s Employee Value Proposition.
• Promote and inculcate a culture of continuous learning
• Conduct regular training needs analysis, and formulate an annual training plan for the Resort.
• Design and curate various training programs to meet both the Resort’s and individual’s learning and development needs.
• Conduct training and orientation programs, core training programs and other related development programs to strengthen the bench-strength of the organization.
• Measure the effectiveness of the training programs. Monitor and advise on the effectiveness, produce data and report on performance, measuring them against specified indicators. Propose strategic and tactical interventions where needed.
• Support Banyan Tree’s Talent Management Programs. This includes recommending outsourcing of training courses and, if and when required, provide suggestions for inviting external resource speakers as part of training programs. The incumbent will also ensure that high potential associates undergo appropriate development programs and activities.

Job Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field. Advanced Certificate in Training & Assessment (ACTA) will be advantageous.
• Proven track record of 7 to 10 years’ experience in a similar capacity, preferably in the hospitality industry. The candidate should have a proven track record of formulating and developing L&D strategies and programs.
• Experience in curating training courses, conducting and delivering training programs will be required. This should be complemented with a strong understanding of instructional design frameworks and applications.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
• Able to handle matters independently, and able to exercise self-motivation to complete projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Instruction and Training:

• Provide riding lessons to individuals and groups, tailored to different skill levels from beginner to advanced.
• Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for competitive riders, including goal setting and progress tracking.
• Develop result-driven pathways and trainings for competitions.
• Offer specialized training sessions in dressage as needed.

Supervision and Leadership:

• Manage and oversee the Riding School Office operations, hospitality, scheduling and profitability
• Mentor and supervise junior instructors, providing guidance and support to enhance their teaching skills.
• Conduct regular training sessions and workshops for staff to on updated competition rules, consistent teaching standards, and safety practices.

Horse Care and Management:

• Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all horses used in the program.
• Coordinate with the Yard Manager to develop and maintain a horse care schedule, including feeding, grooming, and veterinary care.
• Assist in the selection and training of horses for the Instructor Schooling Programme.

Safety and Compliance:

• Enforce all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe riding environment for students and staff.
• Conduct regular safety inspections of riding facilities, equipment, and horses.
• Ensure compliance with local, and club regulations regarding equestrian activities.

Customer Service:

• Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and the equestrian community.
• Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner.

Administrative Duties:

• Oversee scheduling lessons, managing bookings, and maintaining accurate records of student progress.
• Allocate suitable horses for riders for lease and competitions.
• Prepare reports and provide feedback to the General Manager on program performance and student development.
• Handles office administrative, include but not limited to manpower planning.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience (5+ years) in horse riding instruction and training
• Specialisation in dressage training
• Professional certification from a recognized equestrian organization (e.g., British Horse Society, American Riding Instructors Association).
• Proven leadership and supervisory skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Thorough knowledge of horse care and stable management.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

• Capable of performing physical activities required in horse riding and stable management.

Working Conditions:

• Regular interaction with horses, which involves risk of injury.
