Senior Engineering Executive
Summary of Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities and tasks of this position are as listed below, but not limited to these:
- Manage and ensure the building, equipment and services meets the needs of the hotel operations
- Responsible for preventive maintenance and breakdown repair.
- Responsible for capital upgrading, minor project upgrading of equipment and alteration to the system.
- Attend to all kinds of emergency breakdowns.
- Close monitoring and checking during VIP functions to ensure all mechanical and engineering service are in good working condition.
- Propose and recommend upgrading, improvement work and energy saving project.
- Plan, forecast and execute Financial Budget and maintain within the approval limit.
- Maintain and control sub-store for daily usage.
- Write tender specification, work scope, work description and call for tender for minor project work.
- Responsible for preparing and maintaining procedure for all colleagues to be in line with the Hotels’ ISO and OJT standards.
- Ensure safety, security and loss control policies are adhered in the workshop and workplace.
- Conduct safety inspection of kitchen, public area, guest rooms, stores and follow-up all related works.
- Carry out generator testing, lift homing test and fire alarm test.
- Involve in yearly renewal of Fire Certificate Inspection by Fire Safety Bureau and Safety Inspection / Testing Insurance Company.
- Assist Technicians to carry out repair work.
- Conduct performance appraisals, coaching, counseling and disciplining session with colleagues.
- Carry out any other duties as and when assigned by the Management of the Hotel and department (not the primary duty)
- Comply with hotel and department policies and procedures at all times. (not the primary duty)
- Supervise Contractor’s work; hold regular meetings to ensure quality standard is maintained and to meet deadline.
- Work with professional Engineer, Designer, Consultant, Architect and Contractor on upgrading project and temporary supply for exhibitions and conventions.
- Liaise with users and operating departments for shutdown and servicing.
Qualifications:
- Basic Degree / Diploma in Engineering
- PUB Electrican Licence or any approved lcience awarded by relevant authority for Electrical Engineer.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Good technical and management skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office applications
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels of colleagues
- Ability to work effectively and contribute in a team
- Good presentation and well groomed with leadership quality
- Multicultural awareness and able to work with people from diverse cultures
- Flexible and able to embrace and respond to change effectively
- Ability to work independently and has good initiative under dynamic environment
- Self-motivated and energetic. Able to work under high stress environment
