Risk Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Conduct risk survey and loss control service in professional and efficient manner
• Support the regional group companies on matters relating to underwriting technical risk upon their requests
• Providing support to my Manager in terms of administering the delivery of services to clients or our regional group companies, to support the business profitability and client management
• Provide training and seminars to fellow junior engineers and clients and underwriters
• Meeting the group KPIs or targets

EDUCATION / PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and/or Diploma in General Insurance
• Fire Safety Manager / Safety Officer
• Preferably experienced in the insurance industry
• Fluent in English both speaking & writing

EXPERIENCE & ANY SPECIFIC SKILLS SET REQUIRED

• Trained in an engineering discipline, such as mechanical, process, chemical, production engineering, etc.
• At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in working for manufacturing facility(ies), insurer, loss adjuster or similar industries.
• Able to work in a team environment with strong management involvement
• Technical competence and process knowledge (Safety or Risk experience) is preferred
• Willing to take a business trip overseas when required by my Manager
• Excellent communication skills, presentation skills and pleasant personality, and positive mind-set.
• Able to interact with persons at all levels, from workers to managing directors.

Job Description & Requirements

· Be responsible for managing day to day lifting operations for the project.

· To coordinate and oversee all lifting operation within the work site ensuring compliance with WSH Regulations & project’s HSE procedures.

· Adhere to the Company's Health, Safety & Environment policies, procedures and standards.

· Coordinate and supervise all lifting activities and ensure that the lifting operations are carried out in a professional, safe & environmentally friendly manner at all times.

· Ensure lifting equipment and lifting accessories are fully inspected, certified and maintained to a high standard.

· Ensure all relevant lifting equipment certification are recorded accurately for input to the Company's data recording system.

· Ensure that the ground conditions are safe for any lifting operation to be performed by any mobile/crawler crane

· Work closely with Lifting Supervisor and the Safety Department to identify specific training needs.

Requirement:

· Minimum 5 years of Engineering Experience with Degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent

· Proactive, independent, able to work with minimum supervision and also work well in a team

· Must have a Lifting Engineer certificate from The Institute of Engineers Singapore, 5-Day Course for Appointed Person - Lifting Operations

Job Role & Responsibilities:

• Oversee the fabrication and assembly of various ship components, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with quality standards.
• Collaborate with other engineers, technicians and shipyard personnels to troubleshoot and resolve technicial issues.
• Conduct inspection and tests to ensure adherence to safety regulation and classification society requirements.
• Assess the extent of damage on vessels requiring repair.
• Coordinate repair activities with various trades, including welders, pipe fitters, electricians and machanics.
• Perform and supervise repair works, ensuring quality and adherence to safety protocols.
