MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Engineer Officer in charge of the Watch, Ensuring safe and efficient operation of machinery during watch keeping. Carrying out duties of an Engineer as contained within the Company’s Technical Procedures. Maintaining machinery as instructed by the Second Engineer and/or Chief Engineer on board Vessel operating in Singapore waters and in international waters.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Third Engineer is responsible to the second Engineer for:
· Maintaining an engine room watch/UMS duty engineer as required
· Maintaining all plant and paying particular attention to the main propulsion engines, auxiliary engines and boilers
· Adopting safe working practices onboard
· In the absence of an Electrical Officer onboard undertake electrical maintenance, including the completion of all PMS items in ShipSure
· Understudying the Second Engineer whenever opportunities arise
· Undertaking any other tasks, duties as instructed by the chief Engineer and/or Second Engineer

· Mandatory Requirements
· ·Office in charge of engine room watch keeping Certificate of Competence recognised by Singapore flag
· 4 Years sea time onboard all vessel types
· 2 years sea time onboard LNG vessels as 3rdEngineer
· Basic and Advanced STCW safety training Requirement
· STCW Prof. in Adv Oil Tanker Cargo Ops
· STCW Prof. in Basic Oil Tanker and Cargo Ops
· STCW Proficiency in advanced Gas tanker cargo.
· STCW Seafarers with Designated Security Duties
· STCW Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boat
