The role:

Tyk Customer Support is the best in the business, we’ve been called ‘too fast’ by clients and we’re known for having knowledgeable and quality engineers responding to clients, no ‘first-line support’.

We’re looking for a Support Engineer to help us build on our reputation for great support, dealing with client support tickets, call requests and community forum posts. In this role you can also contribute to product development, helping implement features and contributing to product discussions, from a support perspective. 

We are helping our customers solve their critical API Management issues, whether that be through custom integrations, partnership relationships, or simply troubleshooting upgrades with their engineering team.

You will work with engineers from the product team to enhance our offering and convey the clients’ needs, as well as contribute to the product, support documentation and other supporting assets.

We’re looking for highly-technical people with Support Engineering experience, who are happy to hit the ground running and help to design what great customer support looks like at Tyk. What will this role be responsible for?

• Answering complex incoming customer tickets and requests, often involving troubleshooting and reading source code

Experience needed:

• Experience providing technical support for a complex product

• Should have experience in a server side programming language, Go would be extremely advantageous
• Good English writing skills
• Background in software development and/or solution architecture
• General usage of Linux, scripting and related utilities
• Client-facing activities such as video conference calls and in-person meetings
• Understanding of common internet technologies, protocols, standards and data formats

• Solid experience in backend engineering and/or solution architecture for complex systems.
• Experience with software engineering best practices (e.g. unit testing, code reviews, design documentation)

Job Purpose

ServiceNow Administrator / Developer / Engineer focuses on the technical and logistical deployment and maintenance of cloud-based solutions that meet client’s business needs – primarily developing ServiceNow modules and/or Web Services to exchange data between ServiceNow and other technology systems using software development best practices.

The ServiceNow Administrator / Developer / Engineer will receive directions from the ServiceNow Technical Lead or ServiceNow Technical Architect, and will also be responsible for requirement scoping, tool configuration, solution development and achieving technical milestones throughout the lifecycle.

ServiceNow Administrator / Developer / Engineer can identify risks and reports them in a timely manner, has good communication with the project team, and can work without constant direction or supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Design, develop and implement Service Catalog workflows, ITIL processes, ITAM modules within ServiceNow platform and integrations with external systems based on customer requirements.

· Implement considering ServiceNow best practices and standards.

· Design and develop extensions to ServiceNow data model in support of requirements towards AMDB and CMDB, SACM and other modules.

· Review and refine designs for usability, reviews testing scenarios and refines test cases, to ensure applications quality and works with users to review test results to ensure they meet expected results.

· Provide 2nd/3rd level ServiceNow support, resolve incidents/enhancements/defects writing, debugging, and testing using a mix of JavaScript and server-side Java.

· Produces and maintains detailed system documentation, including design specs, solution proposed, unit testing, tech notes, etc.

· Following-up on outstanding client needs and provides timely status reports to their lead.

· Assists in the scoping of new opportunities and design tools and techniques to deliver efficiently.

· Ensures each artifact produced, each configured technical component, and all personal interactions are of the highest quality.

· Communicates technical problems and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

· Create templates for unique agency requirements, reports, dashboards, flows and email notifications.

Required Qualification and Experiences

· Two to three years of ServiceNow development experience

· Total of 5 years experience is required. 2- 3 years of ServiceNow development experience is a must

· Currently has the following valid ServiceNow certifications:

o ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – IT Service Management
