The responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Oversee the finance and accounting operations
• Lead the month end closing process. Review monthly management accounts and closing schedules to ensure accuracy and compliance with Corporate Operating Policy and financial accounting standards
• Update management commentaries on a timely basis and aid in analysis of financial performance for reporting purposes
• Track Capex actual spend and utilisation (both budgeted and unbudgeted, funded and non-funded)
• Support the Capex planning and budgeting process
• Engage in procurement related activities such as evaluation of RFPs and vendor selection process
• Involved in the preparation of financial statements for statutory audits
• Streamline process flows including participating in ERP system implementation project to improve efficiency and accuracy
• Handle any other ad-hoc duties assigned such as grants-related matters

Requirements

• Possess Diploma/Degree/ ACCA Equivalent with at least 5 years experience in financial reporting and maintaining full set of accounts.
• Well versed in Accounting standards
• Knowledge and working experience on Navision accounting system will be an added advantage
• Ability to work under tight reporting timelines

• Good communication skills and team player / leader

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Financial Reporting
  • Review the financials of the Schools, Offices, Centres and Institutes ("SOCIs") monthly to ensure accuracy, completeness, and appropriate presentation.
  • Prepare standardised regular financial performance reports in compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Evaluate the financial performance with relevant stakeholders to determine any actions to be taken.
  • Provide training / guidance to the SOCIs' management team (e.g. HODs, Assistant Deans, Budget co-ordinators).
  • Support budgetary control, including monitoring of fund utilisation and performing system budget/fund transfers.
  • Post accounting entries necessary for effective management reporting.
  • Handle queries from SOCIs on financial systems and other information.
• Planning & Analysis
  • Facilitate SOCIs' budget & forecast submissions
• Communication
  • Be the central point of contact for the SOCIs on all financial matters.
  • Enhance awareness and adherence to financial policies.
  • Build strong, effective relationships across SOCIs to ensure their needs are addressed and finance policies are understood.
• Process Improvement
  • Align and streamline processes within and across SOCIs to achieve consistency and efficiency

• Degree in Accountancy, preferably with CA qualifications.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Successful track record in business partnering and financial planning & analysis (FP&A).
• Keen interest in driving process improvements.
• Familiar with SAP usage and data extraction.
• Familiar with BI tools (eg. Qliksense, Power BI, Tableau).
• Strong inter-personal and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent in both written & spoken English.

Roles and Responsibilities
Finance:

• Handle day-to-day operational transactions, including data entry and bookkeeping into the accounting system, and complete the posting process for accounts payable and receivable
• Handle the petty cash payment and prepare the monthly petty cash report
• Prepare and update debtor and vendor aging reports monthly
• Process staff personal claims and operational costs, check and classify expense items for payment preparation, and enter transactions into the accounting system.
• Verify invoices and reconcile with supplier’s Statement of Accounts
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliation
• Assist in the preparation of monthly adjusting entries, including depreciation, prepayments
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities
• Maintain filling, scanning & documents tracking
• Other ad hoc assigned by superior and management from time to time

Administrative:

• Process customer orders
• Handle customer complaints & liaise with warehouse to ensure smooth packing of goods
• To handle variety of administrative tasks relevant to office decorations and maintenance
• To perform procurements of general office supplies including maintenance of office equipment’s etc
• Coordinate, facilitate and provide support for company events and welfare
• Assist in answering miscellaneous phone calls and walk in guest
• Manage the pantry and other office supplies

Job Requirements
