Department overview:

The Product Control team is part of the wider Global Middle Office team that plays an important role within Finance. It includes the Product Control, Valuations, Collateral Management and Risk & Operations Middle Office functions. The Product Control (PC) team is an independent control function that ensures the integrity of Nomura's financial statements. This is through the preparation and independent verification of daily and monthly P&Ls. In addition, PC review trade booking and valuation flows, perform balance sheet reconciliation and substantiation.

Global Middle Office work closely with the Wholesale division supporting the business and their trading activities. Nomura operates a mature offshore PL production model meaning the onshore role is focussed on liaison with the business, working closely with the middle office trade validation team and value add advisory work. Role description:

We are looking for an enthusiastic self-driven Product Controller to join the Credit and Loans PC team. The individual needs to demonstrate strong Control mindset and will be responsible to provide oversight on daily P&L and balance sheet movements. We would require the individual to be well versed with Credit and Loan products and Asian markets. The role requires frequent interaction with stakeholders across Finance.

• Experience in SQL and Power BI Reporting is an advantage.

Our client is in the commodity trading industry with presence in the APAC region, currently seeks a Finance Manager to join their team.

Reporting to Finance Director, the incumbent will be working in a team of 7 staffs. He / She will be responsible to supervise and lead the Accountants and Accounts Executive. The main duties will include managing daily financial and accounting operating activities, inventory management, cash flow management, strategic planning, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, GST reporting, group consolidation, liaising with auditors, and participating in other ad-hoc projects and assignments.

REQUIREMENTS

• Min Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Post-grad qualifications such as ACCA, CFA, CPA, and Masters will be advantageous
• At least 10 years working experience of hands-on accounting and financial reporting experience with 3 years’ experience in leading a team of min 2 staffs
• Prior experience in managing teams from different regions is preferred
• Knowledge in Indonesian and Guinean tax regulations a plus
• Strong communicator with excellent stakeholder engagement skills
