Role Responsibilities
Job Summary
· Business Banking (“BB”) within Standard Chartered Bank aims to provide companies with turnover of up to US$50mio in Singapore a full suite of products and services that meet their financing and banking requirements. There is no sales turnover boundary between CPBB and CCIB for Non-Borrowing clients.
· Within BB SG, the client coverage teams comprise ME-TWC (Trade & Working Capital), TTM (Transaction & Treasury Management), BB-BWC (Business Working Capital), and BB-SBL (Small Business Lending). Each of these RM teams are managed by the respective Team Heads as different rhythm and expertise are required for each of the businesses.
· We will be expanding the ME-TWC teams to target high value ME clients and “International BB” proposition via One-Bank IB and PVB collaborations. The purpose of this role to lead a RM team and develop / maintain a compelling and dynamic business segment value proposition on expanding global network business, driving the implementation of segment proposition initiatives, and ensuring minimum service level standards & requirements are met by key stakeholders within the network. Priority focus will be given to the top 8 Grow and Scale markets.
· In addition, the Head of Network and International Clients is expected to actively acquire Quality NTB clients and cross-sell BB products as appropriate for the targeted client segment. He/She must actively monitor the team’s performance to ensure that they grow the client base and deliver the financial and non-financial outcomes.
· The job holder will also review economic, political, social, technological, environmental and regulatory trends, competitor activity and demand levels and consistently drive marketplace influencing solutions that includes network partnerships, cross-market alliances/ initiatives as well as internal processes and capabilities to deliver them.
· A high level of commercial awareness, strong analytical skills, the ability to work both autonomously as well as in collaboration with colleagues and partners, the ability to motivate people to embrace action plans and new strategies and work expediently and expeditiously are critical to succeed in this role.
Responsibilities
Strategy
· Work with Group BB, International Banking, Private Banking and other relevant stakeholders to develop and implement the global network framework, model and value proposition that meet the needs of Business Banking clients with cross-border presence in the 8 key markets in line with the Business Banking global network strategy to serve our clients as they expand their footprint in the geographies in which SCB and Business Banking has presence.
Business
· Optimize network portfolio, client revenue and returns through providing consistent and superior customer servicing, targeting, pricing strategy and product capabilities across Business Banking markets. Lead the formulation and execution of business strategies to monetize the strength of Standard Chartered Bank’s network footprint. Achieve financial targets, superior customer service quality and growth opportunities in new products and markets. Drive targets for the team in terms of Quality NTB and ETB clients and deliver both Revenue and Balance Sheet momentum growth in line with the corporate plan.
Processes
· Work with BB Product and other relevant stakeholders to develop, rollout, maintain and recommend procedures and controls that meet / strengthen the requirements of network acquisition and deepening programmes for clients. Drive continuous improvement of the operational efficiency and effectiveness of processes to deliver a best-in-class client experience.
People & Talent
· Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations and work in collaboration with business, risk and control partners in Business Banking markets.
Risk Management
· Ensure strict compliance with all regulations, controls, policies and process standards set by the Bank and external regulatory authorities. This will include compliance with regulations and guidelines on Sanctions, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Environmental and Social Risk Management (ESRM). Responsible for achieving and maintaining satisfactory audit rating where needed.
Governance
· Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the Group’s arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas. Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.

Our Ideal Candidate
· University graduate
· 10 plus years of proven banking experience and relevant experience in serving corporate or business clients or international clients with cross border needs in SME Banking and/or Corporate/Commercial Banking.
· 5 plus years of experience in leading a team.
· Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills and the ability to effectively work with multiple business partners.
· Good product knowledge on trade, cash, FX and lending with strong understanding of local/foreign industries, supply/value chains and market environment.
· Sound knowledge of the changing competitive and regulatory environment in the financial services sector
· Highly motivated and proven record of delivery within challenging time-scale.
· Demonstrate ability to drive strategic initiatives and implement the changes.
· Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to consider alternative and innovative solutions.
