The Challenge

The doctor will be part of a team assisting in managing patients, with duties including conducting daily ward rounds, as well as supervision and teaching of House Officers. He/She will assist in running clinics, as well as assist in carrying out procedures and operations as permitted by the senior doctors. He/She will also be required to perform night duties as decided by the Head of Department, and according to the operational requirements of the Hospital.

Doctors employed for service provision may be granted temporary medical registration for up to 24 months, subject to the doctor's employment contract, conditions stipulated by SMC and the doctors' and institutions' compliance with SMC's supervisory framework.

These doctors may be eligible for conditional registration upon obtaining a postgraduate qualification recognised by SMC or fulfiling such prevailing conditions as may be specified by SMC from time to time.

The doctor must:

• be in active clinical practice;
• have a basic medical degree from an accredited medical university or medical school;
• have passed the relevant national licensing examination in the country of conferment of basic degree, where applicable;
• have evidence of at least 12 months housemanship/internship with a certificate of satisfactory completion of housemanship or equivalent;

• Ensure resident / customer complaints (received verbally, through letters or via feedbacks) are handled expeditiously and corrective or preventive actions taken effectively and complied with protocol
• Implement and monitor infection control policies and procedures and ensure that all staff understand and adhere to these procedures strictly.
• Participate in in-service education programme and carry out post course follow-up to ensure effective transfer of knowledge and training
• Conduct periodic checks on staff on their learning journal and identify staff learning needs
• Take charge of the daily smooth operation of the ward.
• Ensure all internal documents filed correctly and circulars disseminated to all staff.
• Audit residents’ case notes and nursing documentation to ensure that records are update and comply with the legal requirements for documentation.
• Appraise HCA and NA when they renew their employment contracts and annual appraisal for bonus payment.
• Schedule weekly roster of ward nursing staff and those on night duty.

Requirements

• Min. Degree in Nursing from a recognised institution
• Valid SNB
• Min. 5 years’ nursing management experience, of which, at least 2 years’ experience as Senior Staff Nurse or above in a community hospital or nursing home setting preferred

The Health Informatics Officer (HIO) will be responsible for supporting the Medical Informatics Office to manage clinical information systems that assist clinicians in decision-making and the management of patients. The HIO participates in activities required for successful design, implementation, maintenance and support of the clinical systems. The HIO will work closely with IT Project/Systems Team to buil and implement solutions that meet user requirements for clinical orders, medication administration and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent uset to work with IHIS and vendors on design, UAT and implementation
• Assist in EMR project implementation
• Engage users in gathering information
• Train users in the use of Electronis Medical Records (EMR)
• Able to help IT configure electronics medical records (EMR)
• Implementing medical information systems
• Help to develop business continuity practices and processes, including downtime manual clinical operations
• Coordinate operations on the ground during system outages
• Engage Clinicians to improve awareness of medical informatics and explain informatics plan
• Engage clinicians to gather user requirement and feedback, including incorporating best practices into decision support
• Responsive to use needs and feedbacks
• Participate in the development and maintenance of e-training materials for clinical IT systems
• Provide secretarial support for all projects and meetings involving Medical Informatics group, including coordinating members, booking venues, writing minutes

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in any discipline
• Experience in Clinical Information System, IT project management and exeperience in healthcare environment would be an added advantage
• Comfortable to work with various stakeholders
• Able to work well independantly
• Possess good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

Who We Need

The Retail Officer will be responsible for assisting in the overall operation of the Retail Pharmacy by ensuring that walk-in customers/patients’ requests are processed accordingly and daily sales records are updated regularly.
The responsibilities are as stated below.

• Ensure store housekeeping and merchandising standards are achieved.
• Set-up shelves with merchandise and merchandising aids when new vendors come on board / rotation of floorplan / promotion execution.
• Assist in ordering / maintaining / monitoring of stocks and inventory control.
• Establish good inventory management by maintaining and updating expiry date records of all merchandise.
• Conduct merchandising training to new and existing employees.
• Assist in cashiering duties in the absence of the cashier.
• Assist Pharmacist in processing and preparing walk-in prescriptions, Pharmacy-Only sales and the sale of other retail merchandise as required by customers.
• Assist Pharmacist in dispensing duties.
• Ensure that product information like price, barcode and Oracle codes are maintained and updated in the computer system, regularly and accurately.
• Monitoring retail sales record monthly.
• Planning of promotional activities for the Retail Pharmacy and Co-ordination of Retail Roadshow Promotion and management of promoters’ activities.
• Provide good customer service to customers so that customers’ needs are met and feedback on customer’s demand & requests on special items.
• Perform any other duties as and when required by the Pharmacist/ Pharmacy Manager, for example, rostered to work in OPD and main pharmacy on Sundays.

How to Succeed

• Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences or Passed Pharmacy Technician Course.
• At least 2-3 years’ experience in hospital or Retail pharmacy.
• 5 days’ work week.
