10. Liaise with colleagues in the Junior School to ensure vertical articulation of academic provision in the subject area.

13. Produce an annual resource order for the department, ensuring that all books, stationery and other resources needed for the following academic year are included.
14. Through management of assigned budgets, ensure that the day-to-day resourcing needs of the department are met.
15. Oversee the curation of a bank of teaching materials and other resources within the department.
16. Liaise with the Head of Libraries and the ICT Director to ensure that appropriate library and electronic resources are in place to support teaching and learning in the department.
17. Ensure colleagues make effective use of available resources to support teaching and learning (including the Library and ICT).
18. Ensure that systems are in place for the quality assurance of all assessment, recording and reporting in the department, including standardisation/moderation of grades awarded and proofreading of written report comments/targets.
19. Encourage and organise extracurricular activities and events associated with the department (e.g. exhibitions, clubs, societies, enrichment weeks) and promote student participation in these, as well as external events and competitions.
20. Bring to the attention of the relevant Assistant Principal (Academic) any difficulties that may arise.

Overall Responsibilities:

• To teach and educate students according to guidelines provided by the school’s curricular programmes - PYP, Secondary, IGCSE and IB Diploma.
• To teach and educate students according to the educational needs, abilities and attainment potential of individual students entrusted to his/her care by the Head of School.
• To promote the attributes and attitude of the IB Learner Profile and the school values.

Includes the below but not limited to:

• Teach across the whole age range, including PYP, Secondary, IGCSE and IB Diploma.
• Design, prepare and deliver lessons to teach knowledge, techniques, support and enhance each learner’s understanding.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure that every learners' individual needs are catered for through differentiated planning, learning engagements and assessment opportunities.
• Assess and monitor the progress of learners and set goals for improvement, including writing students reports and attending parents meetings.
• Lead or be involved in extracurricular activities, school events, assemblies, staff trainings, meetings, etc.
• Promote the health, safety and wellbeing of all students

Requirements:

• Minimum two (2) years or more relevant full-time teaching experience as a qualified teacher.
• Candidates must at least possess a Bachelor's degree and a Professional Degree in Teaching / Teaching qualification certificates (PGDE, PGCE, PGCEi, NIE Diploma) / Valid Teacher Licence / QTS.
• Strong knowledge and experience of teaching for Secondary, IGCSE and IB level preferred.
• Experience in an international school environment (preferred).
• A passionate educator with the ability to deliver student-centred, inquiry based learning.

Main Responsibility:

To improve the quality of learning outcomes for students by providing teaching and learning ‘best practices’ within the framework of the school’s Mission, Vision, Core Values, Learning Principles, Culture, and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programmes.

Required Qualifications:

● A relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

● A teaching certificate/credential

● Successful Homeroom teaching experience in French

● Excellent organizational skills

● Positive communication skills

● Capacity to work collaboratively as the member of a team

Preferred Qualification:

● Training and experience in the International Baccalaureate PYP

Curriculum and Instructional Responsibilities:

● Uses data to inform instruction and to differentiate lessons.

● Review the relevant CIS Curriculum documents throughout the year.

● Collaboratively develop and implement unit and long-range plans with team members.

● Develop and implement short-range plans that reflect students’ knowledge and identify learning outcomes, as mandated by the CIS Curriculum.

● Conducts formative and summative assessment tasks in collaboration and consultation with team members.

● Review, edit, and maintain long-range and unit plans in Managebac.

● Maintain daily/weekly lesson plans in a readily accessible format.

● Help students thrive in a well-organized learning environment where students’ behaviour and classroom procedures are managed effectively.

● Create an inspiring learning environment that invites inquiry, innovation and intellectual curiosity.

Professional Responsibilities:

● Ensure the safety and well-being of all students in accordance with CIS administrative policies and divisional procedures.

● Know, understand, and support the school’s Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Learning Principles.

● Participate in all Child Protection training.

● Participate in the Individual Work Plan (IWP) process:

● Meet the expectations as outlined in the CIS Teacher Job Description, the CIS Teacher Standards, and the CIS IB Programme Expectations for Teachers.

● Solicit feedback from parents or students via survey.

● Develop and implement an Individual Work Plan (IWP) that supports the Division Work Plan (developed from the school’s Strategic Plan).

● Reflect individually and collaboratively (IWP Meetings with Principal) on the aforementioned components.

● Provide feedback on the IWP process to school administrators.

● Be actively involved in the Activities program, in special events (Carnival, Talent Shows, Steam Fair, Exhibition, etc.), and provide co-curricular and / or coaching as required based on skill set

● Contribute to community building (IWP)

● Be dependable (be where you are expected to be, complete tasks on time; punctual (arrive at school, meetings, etc. on time); and prepared for class (all materials set up and ready for student arrival; plans readily accessible).
