The Head of Business Operations will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of all trade operational aspects of the organization. This role requires a blend of strategic planning, meticulous execution, and effective leadership to perform business operations and enhance operational efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the business objectives.
· Streamline operational workflows, roles, and responsibilities of operators to enhance efficiency and minimize operational errors.
· Do and oversee the entire supply chain process from sourcing to delivery of oil and pet-chem products cargo, payments, and demurrage.
· Work with traders and charterers to seamlessly integrate the operations.
· Monitor and assess operational risks, implementing controls and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
· Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization.
· Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, vendors, and asset personnel.
· Analyze market trends, customer/supplier needs, asset requirements, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and growth.
· Negotiating and finalizing contracts post deals and evaluating contract performances to ensure contractual obligations.
· Lead and mentor a team of operational professionals, and foster a culture of growth, accountability, and teamwork.
· Conduct regular performance reviews and facilitate training programs to enhance team capabilities.
Skills & Competencies:
· Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in an oil/pet-chem business company.
· Knowledge of trade agreements, regulatory requirements, and industry standards related to oil/chems trading.
· Actual cargo operations experience for the entire value chain.
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
· Strong understanding of supply chain, logistics, and procurement processes.
· Proactive and good problem-solving skills. Ability to identify potential supply chain issues and propose relevant solutions.
· Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written.
· High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
· Qualification in supply chain management, operations management, or related domains will be an added advantage.
· Speaking knowledge of Indian language will be an added advantage.
