DC Environment Support

• Shall monitor the facilities infrastructure in the DC to ensure that they are within the operating levels defined by the Customers.
• Power infrastructure (such as Uninterrupted Power Supply and power distribution boards);
• Cooling Infrastructure (such as computer room air-conditioning units);
• Fire detection and suppression systems (such as FM200, water sprinklers, fire extinguishers);
• Environment monitoring system (such as humidity and temperature); and
• Water leakage detection.
• Shall ensure the DC infrastructure is monitored on twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week, inclusive of Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.
• The Vendor shall inform the Customer within one (1) hour when problems are detected.
• Shall work with the Customer and Customer-appointed Supplier to resolve any infrastructure issues detected in accordance to the support hours as required by the Customer.

DC Facilities Management Services

• Shall ensure, through daily inspection, that the general cleanliness and tidiness of the data centre are maintained by the Customer-appointed Supplier.
• Shall work with Customer-appointed Supplier on site preparation tasks such as network cabling and electrical wiring, when required.
• Shall ensure the network cabling in the data centre and within the racks are neat and tidy.
• Shall work with the Customer-appointed Supplier for both scheduled and ad-hoc maintenance, servicing, repair and upgrading works to the infrastructure at the Customer’s premises and premises identified by the Customer.
• Shall plan and coordinate the maintenance activities. This includes polling the affected parties, obtaining the Customer’s approval, and sending out messages to inform the affected party.
• Shall obtain the Customer’s approval before finalizing the plan for any activity.
• Shall provide on-site support during the maintenance activities unless otherwise agreed by the Customer.
• Shall maintain up-to-date documentation of the data centre design layouts.
• Shall manage the physical security of the data centre in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Customer.
• Shall monitor the following physical security infrastructure to ensure they are within the operating levels defined by the Customer

Requirements:

• Preferably Three (3) years of working experience in Data Centre Engineer Operations experience
• ITIL v4 Foundation Certification or equivalent

• Be responsible for operational management of reverse supply chain processes such as decommissioning of network gear and replacement of damaged or faulty parts in the network.

Technical Operations Center Operator

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Technical Operations Center (TOC) Operators to join our dynamic team. The TOC Operators will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining the technical operations of a dedicated set of integrated systems designed to monitor a customer’s subscription video service. The service includes terrestrial networks and distribution systems. In addition to the essential functions listed below, this role will involve incident management and response to escalation from other Globecast BUs in other regions involved in the service. The ideal candidate must have a technical background in video, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions :

• Demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure while exhibiting excellent customer service skills. Collaborate professionally with colleagues, supervisors, and customers to ensure a positive work environment.
• Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, providing accurate descriptions of events related to technical operation issues. Ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications & Requirements :

• Relevant Technical qualification from ITE; Polytechnic and/or equivalent qualification.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and other basic desktop applications (i.e. MS Outlook, Exchange, internet tools, etc.) is assumed.
• Strong communication and good interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with broadcast workflows.

• Open trouble tickets and activate incident management procedures by alerting internal and external teams. Remain service owner till the time issue is resolved and incident report is generated with conclusion.
• Receive and track maintenance notifications. Co-ordinate internally and externally to conclude such maintenance without or minimal impact on streaming services.
• Log issues and provide incident management reports.
• Manage communication with content partner and other global TOCs.
• Perform proactive transmission routine tasks.
• Perform request for streaming channels turn-ups and turn-downs based on standard communication.
• Previous working experience in similar roles would be beneficial.
• Prior working experience with video streaming systems is beneficial.
• Knowledge of video streaming formats and video broadcast ingest is recommended.
• Decision maker and problem solver, critical eye for diagnostics.
• Ability to perform technical troubleshooting to second line level, particularly networking.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Strategic Planning & Supply Pipeline Development
Formulates a pipeline of real estate options to support A*STAR?s future space needs in the area of Biosafety Level 2/Chemistry labs, Data Centers and Manufacturing Labs, taking into consideration future of work space and emerging industry sectors, with emphasis on sustainability. This includes liaison with real estate companies/consultancy firms and research performers in Singapore to understand space availability over a time horizon of 5-10 years.

Supply Matching and Stakeholders Management
Collaborates with stakeholders, including end-users, facility teams and research planning departments to match space demands to A*STAR prevailing leased space or explore alternatives, to enable timely execution of research activities. This entails having a good understanding of the infrastructure specifications and configuration of each space and its ability to meet the intended requirements and operations, including regulatory compliance.

Tenancy management
Coordinates, negotiates and establishes or renews tenancy for A*STAR spaces, considering various factors, such as terms and conditions offered and overall cost competitiveness. Serves as contract manager for various A*STAR tenancies.

REQUIREMENTS

· Background in Civil Engineering, being a Registered Professional Engineer, with minimum 5 to 8 years relevant experience in the real estate consultancy/marketing. Experience in managing R&D space planning would be advantageous.

· Possess good leadership skills in leading multi-disciplinary teams

· Confident to communicate at all levels and able to think creatively and apply strategic thinking to tasks.

· Able to work under pressure and adapt to changes within a fast-paced environment.
