Position Summary:
The Network and Infrastructure Integration Engineeris responsible for the provision of the infrastructure platform: network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls) and compute equipment (servers and workstations), including the deployment of the SOE (Standard Operating Environment) for the respective project and/or bid activity. The Engineer is a key member of the Hardware and Infrastructure discipline team that provides:
· Technical and resource supervisory input to network integration and infrastructure deployment engineering activities,
· skilled input to the network integration and deployment activities within the respective project engineering segment, and
· assistance to the Integration Group for bid response activities.
Responsibilities:
The Network and Infrastructure Integration Engineer provides effort and expertise in two areas: Projects and Bids.
For Projects:
· Revising solution architecture drawings and diagrams, cost templates (devis), the List of Supplies (LoS) / Bill of Materials (BoM), and interfaces at the start of the project.
· Create and/or update network integration engineer contributions to the Solution Specification and Design documentation, Network Acceptance Test Procedures, and other associated network integration documents.
· Reviewing definition documents, solution specifications, design documentation, acceptance test procedures and other associated documentation to align with project objectives, and participating in the product integration and verification phases
· Defining equipment configuration for the ATM solution(s) and coordinating with Hardware Deployment and Integration management for the assembly of the ATM system. Also interface with Tools Engineering, Customer Service and Site Services departments where necessary to accomplish this task.
· Load, configure, validate, and hand over equipment to Software Integration in the factory and on customer sites.
· Support configuration changes to system platforms in factory and customer sites.
· Attend Design Reviews with customers.
· Provide customer training.
· Identify risks at solution architecture level and propose where possible alternate validated solutions.
· Provide system and networking expertise useful in the design.
· Follow and contribute to the development and enhancement of engineering processes.
For Bids / Tenders:
· Definition of system hardware architecture and interfaces.
· Develop and peer review of the system Architecture Diagrams.
· Develop and peer review of the List of Supplies (LoS) / Bill of Materials (BoM)
· Develop hardware integration engineering estimates (devis)
Requirements (key knowledge and experience):
· Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering or Computer Science discipline or any other relevant fields, with at least 5 years of relevant experience
· Good level of knowledge of, and experience with Linux Operating System (Red Hat Enterprise Linux distribution preferred)
· Experience in scripting and programming languages (Shell, Python)
· Experience in large and distributed networked computer systems is a highly desirable
· Good understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS) and Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
· Familiarity with a wide range of compute (HP, HPE, Lenovo, Dell) and networking (Cisco, Juniper) hardware from major manufacturers
· Work experience in a mission-critical environment (ATC-related is highly desirable)
· Solid understanding of hardware integration and testing processes
· Practical experience of validation and integration of hardware components on large, complex, software-based systems
· Strong communication skills, with the ability to write clear and concise documents that clearly articulate complex technical detail
· Able to work on multiple activities concurrently and effectively self-manage (autonomy)
· Able to work under pressure
· Cisco formal certifications (CCNP, CCNA etc) is desirable
· Cisco/Juniper NW automation desirable
