The Legal Support Specialist 3 is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. In this role, you’re expected to:

• Provide comprehensive corporate secretarial support to a number of boards and board committees, including liaison with various stakeholders, preparation of agendas, creation and collation of board packs, taking minutes following up on action points and providing governance advice.

To perform and execute all aspects of in-house legal counsel and company secretary (main or alternate), contracts and procurement management functions of our businesses. You will safeguard our reputation and minimise our exposure to legal, contractual and compliance risks by assuring that the Group and Company comply with laws and statutory requirements in the jurisdictions in which the Group and Company operate, and provide sound and practical legal advice to management and business partners on all relevant matters.

Responsibilities

About the role

The Legal division is made up of team members from Legal, Corporate Security, Compliance, Risk Management & Insurance, Privacy and Corporate Secretarial (“Legal”). Your Role 

Aligned to our accelerated growth plan and further diversification of our Climate Infrastructure portfolio, you will have a unique opportunity to play a key role in executing on our innovative strategy. • Provide legal support as relates to new transactions and matters arising from our existing Climate Infrastructure portfolio. 

• Lead the identification, escalation and mitigation of legal risks associated with our origination and asset management activities as part of the legal work stream.

• Own the relationship with external due diligence providers to ensure all material risks are addressed.

• Develop and implement compliance programs and policies in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Monitor and assess compliance risks and ensure measures are in place to mitigate those risks.
• Conduct compliance training and awareness programs for employees.
• Review, draft, and negotiate contracts and agreements with compliance considerations.
• Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations related to compliance.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance in business operations.
• Handle compliance investigations and assist in resolving compliance issues.
• Ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures.
• Prepare and submit compliance reports to senior management.

• Law degree from a recognized university.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a legal counsel with a focus on compliance.
• Solid knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry practices.
• Experience in developing and implementing compliance programs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
