DESCARTES PROGRAM

The DesCartes programme is developing a hybrid AI, combining Learning, Knowledge and Reasoning, which has good properties (need for less resources and data, security, robustness, fairness, respect for privacy, ethics), and demonstrated on industrial applications of the smart city (digital energy, monitoring of structures, air traffic control).

The program brings together 80 permanent researchers (half from France, half from Singapore), with the support of large industrial groups (Thales SG, EDF SG, ESI group, CETIM Matcor, ARIA etc.).

The research will take place mainly in Singapore, at the premises of CNRS@CREATE, with a competitive salary and generous funding for missions.

WP7 adopts an integrative contextualised approach and incorporates social & legal concerns on fairness & privacy in AI technology design to generate comprehensive and fresh human-centred frameworks and guidelines to ensure positive societal and cultural take-up and impact. WP7 aims to elaborate recommendations to promote creative & effective ways for communicating & collaborating about AI systems and increase AI literacy.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Research Fellow will assist with primary legal research in a variety of legal fields associated with cutting edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology research, from innovation and intellectual property laws to data governance (including access to data, data commons, compliance with data protection laws). The Research Fellow will contribute to the development of best practice guidelines and governance systems and participate in research administrative tasks. Some supervision of junior research staff may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist in primary legal research on databases such as Lexis-Nexis, HeinOnline on areas of data governance and technology law such as data protection, data privacy, IP;

· Support in research collation;

· Prepare and develop summaries of research materials in legal fields related to AI (e.g. IP/IT, data protection), involving the drafting of written synthesis of regulatory primary materials, legal judgments, and secondary materials;

· Provide support in other project management and research administrative tasks;

· Some supervision of junior research staff may be required

· To communicate observations and findings to Descartes project as necessary.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

· PhD in law in a relevant area of technology law and coupled with a good undergraduate law degree with experience in research, and/or experience in technology IP/IT law and data protection law, etc.

About the role

• Work as the Resident Engineer Civil to our LTA projects

About You

• Has good working knowledge of instrumentation works and compliance to Singapore Building Regulations.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in the deep excavation works very close to operating MRT tunnels and / or micro tunneling works

Responsibilities

• Assess and develop overall mitigation strategies across the company to minimize the impact of relevant incidents.
• Research industry best practices, emerging security technologies and relevant regulations, and perform industry benchmarking and gap analyses.
• Develop and implement internal security risk management programs (e.g. comprehensive audit loggings, insider threat detections, privileged access management & governance), procedures, and controls to prevent, detect, and respond to relevant incidents.
• Develop an effective Knowledge Management System so that security policies and standard operating procedures (SOP) are in place, review regularly to update compliance requirements.

The Centre for International Law (CIL) was established in 2009 as a university-level research institute at NUS. It is located on the Bukit Timah Campus of NUS, together with the Faculty of Law. CIL engages in both legal and multi-disciplinary research on wide variety of international law issues. Its mission is to enable Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region to play a more significant role in the promotion and development of international law. Ocean Law & Policy is one of CIL’s core programme areas and was established over 10 years ago. It is co-headed by Emeritus Professor Robert Beckman and Dr. Tara Davenport. We are currently looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join our Professional Services Team delivering Security Projects encompassing predominantly NAC, Firewall,IPS and 2FA solutions. Qualified candidate is expected to have hands-on experience in delivering such solutions. This role presents itself with considerable learning opportunities on the state-of-the art security technologies. And based out of our Singapore office, this role would be reporting to the Technical Manager (Cyber Security).

1.0 Job Responsibilities:

· Develop low level design document for the project delivery detailing the scope with the sensible technology write up.

· Participate in Internal/Customer meetings to develop the LLD document

· Strong understanding with hands-on experience of multiple NAC solutions using Radius Protocol

· Understanding of Windows Active Directory and Integration with NAC Solutions

· Proficient with hands-on experience delivering Firewall migrations and tuning Firewall/IPS policies.

· Ability to deliver 2FA Solutions for specific use case requirements

· Proactively participate in maintaining internal knowledgebase sharing technical findings within the Team

2.0 Required Qualifications:

- Essential

· Network Access Control (dot1x) experience of HPE ClearPass, Cisco ISE

· Firewall Migration expertise across multi-vendor platforms- Cisco ASA/FTD, Palo Alto, Fortigate, Checkpoint

· Hands on experience Cisco FirePower NGIPS

· Basic understanding of Networking – Routing and Switching Protocols

· Ability to manage small scale project and ensure completion within the projected timeline

· Build Customer relationship to manage the projects in a congenial way

· Team Player highly spirited, sharing project experience with peers

· Able to learn and adopt new skills when projects warrant based on the relevant training provided

- Desirable

· Hands on experience RSA SecureID, Cisco DUO 2FA

· Hands on experience deploying in Cloud platform (i.e. AWS, Azure) is preferred

· Knowledge of CyberArk, WAF and Database Firewall is preferred
