MANAGER (LEGAL)/KNOWLEDGE LAWYER, STRATEGY AND DEVELOPMENT
This is a unique role that draws on your experience in the law and practice of arbitration to develop SIAC’s strategies and initiatives to promote and develop international arbitration as a preferred mode of dispute resolution.
Specific Job Responsibilities may include:
- Work on formulating and implementing market development strategies, including, collaborations and other opportunities in existing and potential new markets and sectors
- Contribute to the planning, programming, and execution of SIAC’s outreach events, courses and engagements in existing and potential markets and sectors in Singapore and overseas
- Build and maintain relationships with SIAC global stakeholders, including management of professional networks
- Undertake research (including legal and statistics research) and the evaluation, assessment and analysis of trends and developments in international arbitration and global legal services market developments
- Work on the preparation of SIAC’s annual reports, press releases, newsletters, presentations, publicity outreach materials, statistical reports and other SIAC publications
- Contribute to SIAC’s thought leadership and the promotion of international arbitration by preparing academic or other materials for publication and course materials for internal and external training programmes
- Handle corporate communications related matters including dealing with the press and media
- Support the preparation of meeting materials and note taking for various meetings, committees and task forces
- Provide legal advisory and legal support where necessary
- Flexibility to undertake business travel as needed
- Undertake such other work as may be assigned
Relevant Qualifications and Experience:
- A Law Degree (LLB or equivalent)
- Experience in international arbitration would be an advantage
- Minimum of 3 years PQE or equivalent relevant work experience
- Policy, research, business development and marketing experience would be an advantage
- Data and statistical analysis skills would be an advantage
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to handle several ongoing projects, and to work across disciplines and undertake a wide variety of tasks
