The Early Mental Potential & Wellbeing Research Centre’s mission is to maximise every child’s mental and emotional capital by uplifting neurodevelopmental trajectories during early sensitive periods through interdisciplinary discovery science and translational technologies.

We are looking for a Project Officer who will support EMPOWER’s Centre Director, Prof Victoria Leong, in providing assistance and managing administrative and operational aspects of the Centre’s various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist EMPOWER’s Centre Director and project leads in coordinating and managing the Centre’s ongoing projects. This includes tracking project timelines, deliverables, and milestones to ensure they are met on schedule.
• Provide daily administrative support for projects, including coordinating meeting schedules, preparing agendas, and taking minutes to ensure smooth project execution.
• Assist in following up on outstanding invoices and payments to ensure timely processing.
• Provide support in managing the Institutional Review Board (IRB) process, including tracking submissions, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with ethical review procedures.
• Help prepare project reports, presentations, and other documentation for stakeholders as needed.

The Project Officer will be based in School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) and will be expected to work effectively for advancing the engineering solutions to mitigate the climate change impact which focus on new design concepts for seawalls and coastal defence systems. The position is expected to perform independent and collaborative research to meet the project objectives, to assist the management work of the project daily operation to facilitate the success of the project.
