• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
• Min 5 years of project experience in the power industry
• Able to read and interpret M & E drawings
• Familiar with generators, controls, and its associated equipment & accessories will be added advantage
• Familiar with generators standards and codes will be added advantage

About the job

This role will be responsible for managing customer Project to ensure contract fulfillment, including technical, time plan, cost control, resource/supply chain management, site supervision, commissioning and start up.

Job Description

• Design, communicate, and implement an operational plan for completing the project.

• Monitor progress and performance against the project plan, and control the cost to avoid deviation.

• Take action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.

• Identify, develop, and gather the resources necessary to complete the project.

• Liaise with other operational areas in the organization (for example engineering, technical) to secure specialized resources and contributions for the project.

• Select and manage the activities of outside contractors to ensure they are integrated into the project and that the organization receives satisfactory standards of service. 

• Project supervise on site and participation on commissioning and start up together with internal or external service engineer.

• Trouble shooting management during warranty period.

What you know

As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our project team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing electrical systems within our data centre construction team. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure that all electrical engineering aspects of our projects are executed to the highest standards, within budget, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and review electrical systems for data centers, including power distribution systesm, emergency backup systems, and energy efficiency measures, ensuring they meet all regulatory standards and requirements.
• Collaborate with the designers, other project engineers, construction managers, and local authorities to integrate electrical systems effectively within the project design.
• Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, identifying risks and developing mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
• Conduct site inspections and meetings with contractors and stakeholders to monitor progress and address any technical issues promptly.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in electrical engineering and data centre construction to drive innovation and efficiency in our projects.
• Prepare and present technical reports, design proposals, and project updates to senior management and clients.
• Facilitate coordination meetings and communicate regularly with the project team and stakeholders, including client representatives, to report progress and resolve any electrical engineering issues.
• Ensure all project documentation is accurate and comprehensive, maintaining records of electrical designs, calculations, and as-built drawings.
• Ensure all electrical engineering work adheres to environmental policies and promotes sustainable practices.
