Role Summary

JOB PURPOSE

As a member of the production shift team, the job holder will operate and monitor the chemical production activities in the plant, ensuring that the product is manufactured within set production schedule and to the required standards of quality in a safe, efficient, responsible and cost effective manner.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

The job holder will report to the Shift Supervisor and his deputy working alongside with other chemical technicians.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Operate the different streams of the plant for their specific processes. Each of these processes comprises the following activities.

• Handover checks computerised and/or manual.
• Obtaining, following and completing process related documentation.
• Pre and post batch cleaning of vessels and lines.
• Pre batch checks.
• Charging vessels either manually or via a pump.
• Post charging checks and taking corrective action where necessary.
• Adjusting and monitoring process conditions as required to start the process.
• Monitoring process; both with computer and manually observing temperature, pressure, flow, pH, volume, colour, moisture content and adjusting the parameters accordingly.
• Carrying out routine sampling and Bulk packing and testing of samples as required.
• Recognise end point of the reaction and altering process parameter to stop reaction.
• Transferring product to the next stage.

1. Comply with HSE and quality policies and defined procedures. Bring out unsafe conditions and acts / procedures for correction.
2. Record all operational and analytical data on the appropriate documents and inform the Shift Supervisor of any process abnormalities.
3. Maintain product separation and accurate labelling of all documents, bags and vessels at all times.
4. Carry out routine checks and scheduled cleaning procedures including cleanrooms.
5. Request and collect raw materials and consumables, observe clean areas procedures, monitor raw materials stock and notify Shift Supervisor for any abnormalities.
6. Notify Shift Supervisor of requirements for maintenance. Prepare equipment before maintenance work e.g. depressurizing, cleaning of lines and equipment, de-energizing, LOTO etc.
7. Perform basic maintenance of equipment using tools such as TPM.
8. At the Shift Supervisor's request, to carry out on-the-job training of other Chemical Technicians, incorporating cGMP and safety procedures.
9. To observe cGMP and Health & Safety rules and regulations at work at all times in accordance with Company set standards.
10. To be aware of the potentially hazardous nature of the chemicals in the area and must take the appropriate precautions when using them.

We are currently recruiting a Veterinarian who will join the animal facility at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine). The Veterinarian will help address all the needs for veterinary medical services and IACUC requirements at all NTU animal facilities licensed by AVS. As an AAALAC accredited facility, the Veterinarian will play a critical role in ensuring that the accreditation status is maintained. The Veterinarian will be responsible for carrying out all aspects of the veterinary requirements, from treating the animals, assessing animal health reports of incoming shipments, performing health monitoring of animals, implementing preventive measures to disease outbreaks, so that the welfare and ethical treatment of animal are addressed and maintained according to the guidelines thereby enhancing the research work in the University.

Responsibilities:

Prevention, Diagnosis, Control and Treatment of Disease

• Assessment of sick and dead animals, including necropsy of dead animals if needed.

IACUC Responsibilities

• To address all regulatory requirements of a veterinarian as defined by the NACLAR Guidelines. This includes sitting on the IACUC committee and reviewing animal use protocol, facility and program evaluations, monitoring of IACUC compliance and advising researchers regarding sick/moribund animal, humane endpoints and treatment plans/euthanasia.
• Work with the IACUC secretariat on addressing non-compliance with IACUC protocols.
• Implement researcher/staff training sessions to enhance ongoing training and development of researchers and facility staff.

Requirements:

• A degree in veterinary medicine and licensed by AVS to practice veterinary medicine in Singapore.

General Overview

This position is part of the Production team performing LNG Terminal operations of loading and unloading of LNG from vessels and re-gasification process of LNG for the natural gas pipeline network supply. The position requires the incumbent to perform fieldwork and operate the DCS. The incumbent will work closely with the marine, technical and maintenance team to perform the operations.

Roles and ResponsibilIties

The primary duties are listed as follows:

• Perform routine field inspections on equipment operating conditions to ensure safe operating limits.
• Perform unloading of chemicals/utilities into receiving tanks.
• Perform jetty operations such as berthing in of vessels, operating marine loading arms and undertake Loading Master role.
• Operate DCS to monitor and control the overall terminal process within the design parameters and to meet customers’ gas nomination requests.
• Maintain comprehensive unit logs with proper data of all activities occurring in the shift and to ensure proper changeover of shift including any follow-up activities requirement.
• Support other production activities in relation to other businesses and services such as vessel cool down, cold energy transfer, LNG Truck Loading etc.
• Perform troubleshooting on equipment and processes when necessary.
• Take corrective action to ensure unit and equipment are operated under safe and optimum conditions. Generate work orders for maintenance work on equipment when necessary.
• Secure and prepare equipment and work sites for maintenance work according to Safe Operating Procedures requirements such as equipment lock-out and tag-out, low tension electrical de-energization etc.

• Replenish process chemicals / additives and trigger re-stock when necessary.

• Supervise contractors who are executing the approved works according to the established permit to work system.

The incumbent shall be part of the company’s Emergency Response Team (CERT) and perform any assigned roles and responsibilities such as but not limited to:

• Respond to terminal emergency situations as a first aid specialist or fire fighter or any other assigned roles.
• Participate in prevention and combat of hazardous situations such as loss of primary containment, oil spills and other forms of pollution and situations dangerous to life and property.

Work Experience

• Candidate must have at least 3 years’ experience in oil, petrochemical and refinery plant, utilities and cryogenic processes.
• Previous operations experience of LNG facilities is preferred but transferable skills from other hydrocarbon process or cryogenic product (e.g. LPG) loading and unloading will also be considered.
• Preferably with knowledge of plant instrumentation and control systems and DCS.
• Practical working knowledge of mechanical equipment, heat transfer equipment cryogenic equipment, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, LNG tanks, fired equipment and flare systems.
• Experience in mechanical systems and process plants desired, knowledge of cryogenics and aspects of the natural gas industry is preferred.
• Experience in process plant safety (e.g. confined space, lock-out and tag-out, working at height, gas testing etc.) and permit to work issuing is preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead all aspects of electrical controls, power and instrumentation systems related to the equipment and machinery.
• Be responsible for the design and technical support of all hardware, software, instrumentation and controls elements as part of an integrated system.

Skills & Experiences required:

• Performs scheduled calibrations and preventive maintenance on all types of industrial instruments and electrical devices and mechanical equipment.
• Executes work request from process plants for equipment, instruments and electrical breakdown.

• Performs modifications, fabrication, fittings, and installation for minor projects.
• Performs equipment/system testing, commissioning and/or qualification (IQ, OQ, PQ).

· Ensure timely generation and issuance of NDT report on daily basis.

· The inspector/team lead / engineer will perform inspections applying various NDT techniques in accordance with applicable specific code, procedure, and or written criteria.
