JOB DESCRIPTION OF WORKSHOP TECHNICIAN
Primary Roles
1. To perform any disassembly, assembly and testing work for equipment and tools
2. To be able to collect information (photos of equipment during disassembly, assembly & testing) for preparation of inspection reports and final assembly reports, etc
3. To be able to take measurement using process instrument for parts, component and record in assembly process documents
4. Preparation of part list once the inspection is completed for submission to Workshop Foreman
5. To ensure all products are assembled using the correct parts/components per ‘Bill of Material’
6. To check parts received from warehouse and provide feedback to Workshop Foreman if discrepancy found
7. To be able to perform any rigging, lifting and forklift operation
8. To work with Competency Assessor and complete competency assignment
9. To ensure equipment/tools/work area are maintained in a clean and orderly condition
10. To fill up equipment component traceability record, all applicable D9 documents and QP for the job assigned and submit to Workshop Foreman for review
Secondary Roles
1. To provide update in Job tracker
2. To prepare inspection or final assembly report when assigned by Supervisor
REQUIREMENTS
1. NTC/NITEC/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent
2. Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in heavy machinery environment especially in hydraulics and pneumatics
3. Able to read technical drawings in order to assemble machine parts
4. Preferably a valid class 3 driving license to facilitate inter-shipyard work
5. Familiar with Microsoft Office applications
6. Good written and communication skills
