Olam Agri supplies food, feed and fibre to meet rising demand and a shift to protein-based diets, particularly in Asian and African countries. This role play a critical role in supporting the growth strategy of Olam Agri. You will be responsible for the full deal lifecycle, from deal origination and analysis to execution and post-deal integration. This includes managing multiple transactions simultaneously, leading project teams with internal and external stakeholders, and driving each stage of a deal to successful completion.
Responsibilites:
1. M&A deal management:
- Project management: Manage various workstreams through the deal cycle:
o Structure the workflows in a deal cycle and prepare a project plan, track and review progress with stakeholders, drive to completion
o Support end to end deal execution, from origination till closing and integration stage
o Manage internal and external project teams, including business and functional teams (Legal, Finance, IT, HR, etc), and advisors
o Understand Due Diligence scoping, risks and mitigation. Analyse and provide pertinent feedback to duel diligence reports
o Collate timely and quality input and decision-making from various internal stakeholders
o Understand and manage cross-functional and stakeholder dependencies, issues and risks
2. Strategic Investments Review and Approval:
- Develop or review comprehensive organic investment proposals, prepare presentations and recommendations for approval, manage the internal approval process
- Review investments performance and prepare reports to facilitate reviews at Board level
- Contribute to the development of Olam Agri's investment review best practices
3. Strategic Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence
- Structure and deliver strategic market/segment analyses to inform new markets and sectors’ entry
- Maintain a continual awareness of the industry, competition, supply chain dynamics and M&A landscape
- Extract and analyse emerging trends and opportunities or critical issues to provide insight into the Olam Agri’s or BU’s strategy
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years experience in managing strategic investments within an investment firm, a top tier advisory or a corporate, preferably in agri-business, food or related industry
- Degree in Business Management and/or Finance
- Understanding of financial, commercial, legal and regulatory aspects of M&A transactions
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with stakeholders
- Strong work ethic, ownership and commitment levels
- Able to work independently
- Cultural sensitivity and adaptability; comfort with ambiguity
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously meeting tight deadlines
