Responsible for the acquisition of company materials and services, management of vendors, and monitoring the flow of goods and services in our supply chain. Quality, On-Time Delivery, and cost management are critical to the success of the company and are the main priorities of the Purchasing Agent.

Job Description

• Using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) software to determine material and service needs
• Create and maintain Purchase Orders
• Monitor existing open orders to ensure on-time deliveries
• Expedite supplier orders as required to support production
• Analyse costs and negotiate prices for goods and services
• Create and update Supplier Price Lists
• Maintain Supplier Contact information
• Manage In-Transit inventory levels and receipts, especially from intercompany sources.
• Work with Production Scheduler to share supply changes related to PO need dates and material availability.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, quality issues, and cost concerns
• Communicate supply chain information to other departments and management
• Monitor Engineer Change (EC) closely and manage Excess and Obsolescence & slow -moving materials.
• Implement consignment agreements with suppliers, where necessary
• Build vendor base as required.
• Prepare cost analysis reports
• Undertake any other duties as assigned by the superior.

Requirements

• Diploma/Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Supply Chain Management, Production, Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, Finance, Economics or equivalent
• 3-5 years working experience in a purchasing/supply chain role preferably in manufacturing environment
• MRP/ERP experience is preferred – experience with Epicor is a plus
• Proficient in MS Office is highly desirable

Job Responsilbilities

• Sourcing, assessing, and buying mechanical and electronic components from reputable vendors that can fulfil the necessary requirements
• Bargains with suppliers to obtain improved conditions of delivery, quantity, and price
• Comparison of the costs and requirements, together with a counterproposal for an alternate approval to the engineers
• Problem Purchase orders that are based on requests for purchases
  completing unfinished business and rushing through necessary materials
• To fix the DO/Invoice disparity, collaborate with Finance and Store.
• Work with QC to address quality concerns raised by vendors.
• Participate in the annual audit ISO 14001 and 9001

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma in Electronics Engineering/Procurement and Supply Chain related discipline
• Minimum 2 years of purchasing experience in electronics manufacturing industry (OEM)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Words and Excel)
• Familiar with using Sum Product/Conditional formatting/Sort/Filter/vlookup/Pivot and formulas
• Experience in machining/metal stamping parts will be added advantage
