Summary: To assist a Line Manager (LM) or Trade Head in the day-to-day operations of the service and can also be responsible for the Profit and Loss of a service without physical vessel provision. This is usually on a service where we have slot on a third-party service.

Role and Responsibilities:
Assisting a Line Manager with a relatively heavy daily operational & commercial workload, including:
· Overseeing daily operational aspects, including monitoring vessel movement at sea and vessel activities when in port, and maintaining close liaison with overseas agents. Notwithstanding communicating to master.
· Managing space control, including executing over-booking, cargo selection addressing fixed slot customer excess requests and liaising with oversea agents on booking forecast.
· Updating vessel positions for both our own operated ship and partner’s vessel and disseminating revised schedule to internal office, agency and key clients.
· Close monitoring of daily vessel speed resulting in bunker consumption using the system to ensure the vessel consumption aligns with Time Charter Description (TCD) and cross check against other sister ships previously operated in the trade or region.
· Monitoring and reviewing bunker survey report of individual stems and confirm that reported quantities align with the master’s reported ROB, and immediately addressing any variations.
An Assistant Line Manager (ALM) may be assigned to manage a third-party independent service. While the cost is typically fixed, the ALM can influence the profit and loss through space utilization and rates.
Additional responsibilities include:
• Managing daily correspondence regarding vessel schedules, space management, and pricing with internal and external parties.
• Preparing weekly flash reports.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in maritime business or business management.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in shipping line involving in trade.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues across departments and various internal & external stakeholders.
• Be available for out-of-hours work.
• Overseas travel may be required as part of business requirements.
