Duties & Responsibilities:

Baggage Control

· Ensure efficient sorting, retagging and/or tagging of bags and transferring them to correctly labelled trolleys and containers

· Ensure that there are sufficient containers/trolleys to handle flights

· Ensure that containers and doors/flaps are properly secured and baggage is towed to the correct aircraft on time

· Brief all contract staff assigned to the flights on their duties and special requirements for the flights

· Ensure that all discharged baggage is accurately, properly and speedily offloaded onto the correct arrival conveyor belts. Ensure that transit baggage is reloaded into the transfer containers

Lost and Found

2. Student Affairs

• Managing the student registration and related processes to ensure students are fully enrolled.
• Updating student records of attendance and achievement into student management system, producing and disseminating academic progress reports and transcripts in an accurate and timely manner.
• Providing support to students enrolled in DAS Academy programmes.

3. Finance

• Collecting fees and issuing receipts.
• Managing petty cash and making bank deposits, keeping a proper record which has to be submitted to the Finance Department via the line manager.
• Ensuring accurate and timely collection statement submission to Finance Department.
• Submitting the application of training grants for various programmes in DAS Academy, for example, the Parent Training Grant, SkillsFuture and Professional Capability Grant.

4. Reporting

• Assisting in compilation or update of information for monthly and management reports pertaining to student enrolment in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assisting in the compilation or update of information as required by the Committee for Private Education (CPE).

5. Others

• Providing support in DAS Academy events such as DAS Academy Student Graduation.
• Any other duties as assigned from time to time by the Head and Deputy Director of DAS Academy.

5. Working Hours

• DAS Academy staff work when our clients are available. All staff work 44 hours per week and are expected to be flexible in their working days (this includes Saturdays & Sundays)

• Develop novel high throughput technologies for unveiling new insights into the biology of DNA or RNA. Candidates with an established track record in sequencing methodology development, genomics, functional genomics (studied using saturation mutagenesis), and molecular engineering are highly welcome.
• Develop novel technologies in RNA therapeutics (including either using RNA as medicine or targeting RNA in diseases). Candidates with an established track record in targeting RNA or engineering RNA for protein production, decay, and localization in health and disease systems are strongly encouraged to apply.
• AI and computational biology, to develop/use the latest machine learning strategies and computational analytics to analyze genomic and multimodal data to enable novel insights into biology and human health.

Principal investigators will be able to leverage GIS's strong sequencing facility, technology platforms, novel computational analytics, and outstanding biological systems to create scientific and societal impact.

Qualified candidates should have an MD, PhD, or equivalent degree in the biological, genomic, or computational sciences, and a demonstrated ability to conduct cutting-edge team-based research with a strong record of peer-reviewed publications, and external funding. Past successes in intellectual property creation will be an advantage. You must be comfortable working in a dynamic research organization. Strong communication skills and a willingness to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment are critical for success. The successful candidate will drive an expansion into the indicated research areas and complement programs at GIS and synergise with ongoing larger-scale efforts at A*STAR.
