Job Purpose

The candidate is expected to work on the Regional IFRS17 Programme as a Data Mapper cum Business Analyst. Job Requirements:

• Serve as the designated compliance officer for the firm and the funds covering Singapore, US and Cayman regulations
• Ensure adherence to both group compliance procedures and compliance regulations (whichever sets a higher standard) for employees interfacing with clients in Singapore.

The International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) intends to hire a full-time Senior Fellow for IISS Senior Fellow for Nuclear Arms Control, Non-Proliferation and Disarmament, based at IISS-Asia in Singapore. The selected candidate will report to the Executive Director of IISS-Asia and will lead the Institute’s research on Nuclear Arms Control, Non-Proliferation and Disarmament.

The IISS is the world’s leading authority on international conflict and geopolitical trends. It is international in its composition, perspective and reach. The Institute provides objective facts and independent analysis for its core audiences in government, the private sector, and the expert and opinion-forming communities. Summits convened by the IISS facilitate intergovernmental consultations, while its research helps companies to understand political risk and its publications shape the international strategic debate.

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

• Conducting policy-relevant research on global nuclear disarmament, non-proliferation and arms-control issues, and contributing analysis to and working closely with other relevant IISS regional and thematic research programmes;
• Devising a programme of work on global nuclear disarmament, non-proliferation and arms-control and fundraising to support that work in Singapore and internationally;
• Briefing IISS corporate partners, governments, and the expert and opinion forming communities on global nuclear disarmament, non-proliferation and arms-control issues in the region and beyond;
• Engaging other relevant international experts as part of the programme; and
• Contributing generally to an informed international strategic debate on global nuclear disarmament, non-proliferation and arms-control policies.

The successful candidate will be a dynamic individual, with an entrepreneurial bent, able to take on a wide variety of tasks with tact and efficiency. The position will suit a person with strong intellectual qualifications, a background in policy-relevant research, professional writing skills, an international outlook and an established record of accomplishment in government, the ‘think tank’ community and/or business.
