The RA’s principal role will be to work in cell culture models, grow and maintain clinical bacterial isolates, perform confocal microscopy studies and to assist in working with animal models of gut colonization.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Research Assistant will be accountable to the Principle Investigator (PI). The RA will be able to:

1. Oversee the general management of the project;
2. Provide administrative and secretarial support to the project, such as organizing regular meetings to maintain regular communication with other members of the research team and collaborate with other relevant parties;
3. Undertake the day to day running of the project;
4. Conduct literature searches, analyse data and participate in inventory stock taking in the lab, procurement of reagents and services, as well as routine lab maintenance;

6. Assist with any other duties of a similar nature that are delegated by the PI.

Qualifications

The applicant should:
