The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant to conduct a research project on Development and Application of innovative bioactivity assays for drug discovery for cancer therapy” in the Department of Biochemistry and Centre for Cancer Research, NUS. The research fellow will work in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team including chemists, pharmaceutical scientists, bioengineers, and cancer research scientists. The role is lab-based and encompasses in vitro and in vivo assay designs, bioactivity validation and development of mechanistic assays for hit validation and lead compound generation. Qualifications

1) Have a B.Sc. degree in. in biochemistry, chemistry, pharmaceutical science, biomedical science, pharmacology or a related discipline.

2) At least 2 years of research experience with good publication track record in the related area and is able to work independently and in a team.

3) A basic understanding of cell biology techniques and biochemical assays as well as practical experience in mammalian cell culture and immunofluorescent microscopy. Able to handling mouse work and establish xenograft animal cancer models.

4) Great skills in developing robust assays in support of medicinal chemistry or biological programs including both in vitro biochemical (e.g. enzymes) and cellular (e.g. reporter assay) development and various assay technologies and read-outs suitable for support of drug development.

Drive the advancement of various heterogeneous integration processes such as pick & place, flip chip bonding, underfill, solder ball attachment, and encapsulation. 1. Perform daily periodic checks of Central Kitchen to ensure compliance to in-house GMP/GHP standards, SOP, Product Specifications, etc.

2. Conduct random checks on incoming raw materials, and perform product cutting on raw materials to ensure goods received are within in-house specifications.

3. Ensure Process Verification and Validation exercise are completed (i.e. SOP/CCP verification, new product launch process observation, monthly facility checks, monthly traceability exercise, finished goods shelf-life verification, etc.)

4. Conduct investigations on product/process non-conformance (on-line and customer complaints) and follow-up on proposed corrective/preventive measures to ensure effectiveness.

5. Promptly follow-up with contractors (chemical/pest control) during routine servicing to ensure work orders are conducted as per contract.

6. Participate and engage in quality system implementation (audit activities by regulatory/certification bodies and customers).

7. Conduct data/trend analysis on non-conformity of raw material/finished goods, pest reporting statistics, monthly production and facility check statistics, etc. for process and quality improvement.

8. Ensure analysis of food products via microbiological and physical testing, calibration of lab equipment and measurement tools, internal sensory evaluation are conducted as per schedule.

9. Report all non-conformances, discrepancies and/or deviations, and follow-up on the investigation of the non-conformity results.
