Overview*

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be involved in a multi-site cohort Human Biomedical Research study. You will be based at outpatient clinics across NUHS, at Alexandra Hospital or National University Polyclinics. You will be primarily responsible for subject recruitment and other research deliverables for the studies. You will work closely with the research team and the Principal Investigator of the study.

Job Responsibilities*

You will be responsible for the following:

1) Subject Recruitment and follow up

• Be involved in subject recruitment, scheduling and data entry. Screen patients based on study eligibility, and communicate the study aims to potential subjects in layman terms.
• Obtain consent taking, administer study questionnaires and follow-up on study participants.
• Work closely with research team, clinicians, clinic staff and other relevant internal departments to ensure research study needs are met.

As part of IME’s Photonics & Sensors Department, the candidate will work on photonic device and PDK library development. We are seeking one or more highly motivated and creative postdoctoral researchers to join our dynamic team at the Synthetic Biology for Clinical and Technological Innovation (SynCTI), Synthetic Biology Translational Research Programme, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS) and the National Centre for Engineering Biology (NCEB).

About the Team

The Seed Foundation Machine Learning (ML) Systems team provides end-to-end (E2E) machine learning experience and machine learning resources for the company. The team builds heterogeneous ML training and inference systems based on GPU and AI chips and advances the state-of-the-art of ML systems technology to accelerate models such as stable diffusion and LLM.

The team is also responsible for research and development of hardware acceleration technologies for AI and cloud computing, via technologies such as distributed systems, compilers, HPC, and RDMA networking. The team is reinventing the ML infra for large scale language models. We have published papers at top tier conferences such as SIGCOMM, NSDI, EuroSys, OSDI, SOSP, MLSys, NeurIPS, etc.

• Monitor immune response to anti-viral, and vaccines with longitudinal imaging, supported with pathology (IHC/IF), and cellular assessment (flow cytometry).
• Ensure regulatory compliance of research, including legal and ethical requirements.
• Ensure timely reporting and presentation of study results to the team, and making appropriate decisions on data obtained from imaging studies.
• Write and review research papers, and present at local and international conferences.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior researchers and/or graduate students.
• Demonstrate effective organization/project management abilities to efficiently manage time and work activities.

Job Requirements

• PhD in Virology/Immunology/Radiopharmaceutical Sciences or related disciplines.
• Experience in multimodality imaging and image analysis (including PET, SPECT, CT, fluorescence, and/or optical imaging) within the infectious diseases and immunology domain.
• Background in virology, molecular biology, cell biology and oncology.
• Possesses experience in mouse studies (injection, anatomy, necropsy, pathology) required.
• Proven track record of academic publications, including writing/drafting first author papers.
• Self-motivated individual, enthusiastic to take initiatives, as well as able to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Demonstrate excellent communication, technical independence, analytical and problem-solving skills.
