We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation of our signature Japanese dishes, maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, and support the senior kitchen staff.

Kitchen Trainee

* Full Time: up to $3200/ month

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping vegetables, preparing meats, and measuring ingredients for dishes.
• Help in the cooking process by performing simple cooking tasks such as grilling, frying, and others with minimum supervision of senior chefs.
• Ensure the kitchen is clean and organized.
• Assist in monitoring and managing kitchen inventory, including checking stock levels and receiving deliveries.
• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations and guidelines. Follow the organization’s Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies and procedures
• Coordinate with our wait staff to ensure proper cooking, considering special requests and food allergies

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not required.
• Basic cooking skills, knowledge of kitchen equipment, ability to follow recipes, and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to stand for long periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.

We are looking for enthusiastic residents to join our team as Food Service Associates. The ideal candidates will prepare and assemble food according to the menu, deliver dishes to customers, and maintain cleanliness in the dining area. This role is vital in ensuring a pleasant dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately assemble food items according to the menu specifications.
• Deliver prepared dishes to customers' tables promptly and courteously.
• Clean and sanitize tables and dining areas after customers have left.
• Provide friendly and efficient service to all customers, addressing their needs and ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Prepare and set up the dish-out station for efficient service during peak hours.
• Assist in monitoring stock levels, report shortages (if any) to the supervisor, and receive deliveries.
• Follow all health and safety regulations and guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is a plus but not required.
• Skills: Strong customer service skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and excellent communication skills.

Job Description

Prepare pastry and baked goods

• Prepare a variety of baked goods
• Prepare ingredients needed for daily production of baked goods
• Operate baking equipment and tools during food preparation
• Perform maintenance of baking equipment and areas prior to and post production of baked goods
• Apply finishing touches of baked goods for decoration and presentation of finished products

Support food and beverage operations

• Open the bakery for business
• Execute daily operational tasks according to staff roster
• Maintain records of inventory and supplies of baked goods
• Follow crisis response and recovery activities in accordance with business continuity policies

Maintain hygiene, safety and standards

• Follow the organization’s personal, food and beverage hygiene standards
• Follow the organization’s Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies and procedures

Contribute to continuous improvement

• Operate emerging technology and tools to improve work productivity

Requirements:

• Certificate in Pastry & Baking, or its equivalent
• Minimum 2 years' relevant working experience in pastry and baking in Japanese Bakery preferred
• Strong specialization skill in the preparation of dessert and other baked/ savory goods
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, and positive attitude towards fostering teamwork
• Able to handle heavy work equipments
