Established in 2010, the Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) is a pan-university research institute that focuses on systems-level research for tropical megacities. It performs translational research that covers the energy value chain from generation to innovative end-use solutions, motivated by industrialisation and deployment.

In 2021, Enterprise Singapore, the national standards body for Singapore, had appointed ERI@N as a Standards Development Organisation (SDO) to develop and promote standards under the Electrical and Electronic Standards Committee. New Curriculum - Interdisciplinary Collaborative Core

NTU is reshaping its undergraduate curriculum to emphasise interdisciplinary and collaborative learning in the foundation years. This interdisciplinary and collaborative curriculum, consisting of 7 core courses, is designed to enhance students' cognitive agility, competence, and character beyond their chosen majors. These core courses are mandatory across all NTU undergraduate programmes and will be concentrated in the first two years of study, featuring mixed-class environments to foster multidisciplinary collaboration from the outset of students’ university experience. Through diverse team projects and assignments, students will engage in group learning that spans different disciplines.
