We are looking for service-oriented individual to join the Operations & Facilities Management Department of Memorial Facilities and Planning Division which oversees the operation and maintenance of Government cemeteries, crematoria and columbaria.

[What you will be working on]

You will play a key role in providing after-death care services and your job responsibilities include:

• Manage the daily operations and maintenance of the building facilities, Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) systems, daily conservancy and landscaping work of Mandai Crematorium & Columbarium, Yishun Columbarium and Kranji State Cemetery.

• Manage the maintenance and repair of buildings to ensure a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environment for staff and visitors.

• Manage the procurement and contract management of building maintenance, conservancy and landscaping, to ensure high-quality and cost-effective services.

• Coordinate and supervise officers and contractors to ensure efficient and effective operations.

• Implement energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives to reduce carbon footprint.

• Implement and monitor compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations and standards to maintain a secure and sustainable facility environment.

• Plan and execute work improvement projects such as periodic / cyclical Repair & Redecoration work, structural maintenance and related work

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and address facility-related needs and support organisational goals.

• Handle and manage feedback.

• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

Your job responsibilities include:

• Supervise a team of Officers in ensuring the cremation ceremony and process are carried out smoothly and efficiently
• Supervise a team of Assistant Executives to carry out their cremation duties at service halls smoothly
• Manage enquiries and provide assistance to the public to ensure that sufficient support and assistance are provided to help them go through the cremation service and ash collection process effectively
• Plan and coordinate daily operations and maintenance (preventive and breakdown) of the cremators
• Administration of the cremator term contract, including seeking approval, raising Purchase Orders/Works Orders, carrying out inspections and verification of work done
• Perform administration work such as duty roster preparation, attendance record keeping, etc.
• Monitor the consumption of gas/electricity by the cremators
• Assist supervisor to carry out periodic review of work procedures and conduct briefings to staff on revised procedures
• Assist with Officers’ duties including the ash collection work when necessary
• Operate the coffin trolley to transport caskets to designated area before and after cremation ceremonies when necessary
