Reporting to CAO, the main missions for this role will be to direct the planning, implementation, and management of improvement activities regarding governance, compliance and internal audit activities of our company in Singapore and related companies and/or its subsidiaries in the Asia Oceania (AO) region.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and organize initiatives to meet role commitments and deadlines in the improvement of governance, compliance and internal audit activities across relevant regions.
- Lead and manage requirements analysis, including requirements gathering, setting up and facilitating workshops, understanding processes and priorities, and project scope while consistently determining approach and next steps.
- Create quality and accurate as-is and to-be process flows and collect baseline and post-improvement data in English and/or Japanese
- Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and manage expectations in English and/or Japanese.
- Identify, manage, and report on project-related risks and issues and develop effective solutions to mitigate or manage risks.
- Strive for continuous improvement of internal processes and take the initiative to develop solutions to improve such processes
- Analyze data and identify process bottlenecks to create recommendations for project management.
- Work closely in consultation with related departments such as legal and administrative groups to ensure compliance of policies and procedures as proposed.
- Provide responsible leadership to Internal Audit team by training subordinates and giving effective management.
- Perform continuous improvement for the duties described above.
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties be assigned by management or Japan HQ
Requirements:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree holder from reputable local or international universities in relevant field of study with professional certification (e.g. CIA).
- Minimum 8 years of prior work experience in auditing, with at least 6 years dedicated to internal audit, with a strong grasp of risk and control.
- Minimum 8 years of leadership with people management experience especially in leading an internal audit department
- Strong leadership, people management skills with a positive attitude and innovative mind
- Must have project leadership experience in multiple projects over course of career in the capacity of team lead/ overall project manager or equivalent capacity
- Minimum 12 years of relevant working experience in automotive/trading industry
- Prior working experience in a Japanese firm would be advantageous
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, and must be able to create vision and set directions to impact and influence own department's mid to long term strategy
- Open-mindedness towards different cultures (to interact with parties from various backgrounds as a contact person at the regional headquarters)
- Must be effectively bilingual in English and Japanese to manage relevant stakeholders, communicate initiatives with Japan HQ and regional companies within AO Region.
