PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Reporting to the Director of Business Development & Analytics, the role of the Business Development Manager APAC is to maximize the return on the company’s investment dollars by providing fact-based input into development projects and by accurately evaluating and communicating to the BD team and the executive management the financial risk and return of potential business opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identifying and evaluating potential development opportunities in new or existing accounts.

• Providing financial insights to help choose the most promising concepts.

• Offering negotiation support for new business initiatives.

• Coordinating with Business Development, Operations, and Design & Construction teams to build a comprehensive Business Case for each project, including operating assumptions, financial projections, risk assessments, and potential upsides.

• Evaluate and interpret RFP, project manage end to end bid submission.

• Engaging in negotiations with landlords and potential business partners.

• Preparing and presenting Business Cases for capital expenditure approval.

• Conducting Post Audits of Business Cases to compare actual project performance with the approved projections and sharing insights with the Business Development team for continuous improvement.

• Leading sales and trend analysis, capital reconciliations, and other key commercial and financial metrics.

• Ad-hoc reports

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

· Minimum 8 years of combined education and professional background.

· Essential to have robust financial experience.

· Skilled in NPV, IRR, cost/benefit, trend analysis, and financial modeling.

· Business Degree or equivalent qualification.

· Valued experience in travel retail, especially in Retail or F&B.

· Ability to discern financial and strategic implications conceptually.

· Experienced in interpreting legal agreements and knowledge in commercial real estate and service companies.

· Understanding of long-term financial planning impacts and aligning with organizational goals.

· Proven ability to grasp business needs, stakeholder priorities, and employee dynamics.

· History of fostering positive work environments, collaborating, and guiding teams towards shared objectives.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure timely, accurate month-end closing and analyse financial information for reporting to Management;
• Responsible for preparation and closing of monthly and annual financial statements
• Coordinate and liaise with internal parties to support intercompany activities
• Dedication of work and working closely with your team
• Coordinate and liaise with external parties like external auditors, tax agents, corporate secretarial agents, local tax and government authorities where required
• Verify on daily petty cash and monthly reimbursement claims as well as handling of staff purchase
• Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, (eg, invoicing, stock, cash flow and other transactions)
• Prepare Monthly Profit & Loss statement, Quarterly auditor's reports and annual financial budgets
• Preparing of weekly bank reconciliation reports and summaries for management

• Review and finalize accounting work completed by your team
• To support any ad-hoc assignments

Job Requirement

• Degree in Accounting or related fields
• At least 7 years of relevant experience in Accounting, including 2 years of managerial experience
• Able to work independently within minimum supervision

• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to work closely with the team

• Implement marketing plan consistent with the Event Strategy; aimed at improving market share and achieving objectives of strategic event goals.
• Develop and craft all activities of the marketing plan of the Event and achieve the objectives set for the activities.

Detailed job roles:

• General

1. Day-to-day marketing administration.
2. Assist to manage and monitor third party agency/project teams, by proactively gather and provide input for regular reviews, to ensure deliverables are meeting set targets, timeline and budget.
3. Assist to manage and develop databases; to maximise its function to achieve business needs.
4. Stay up to date with the trend of technology in marketing, social media and other internal marketing channel and assets.
5. Business-to-business marketing; assist to develop, maintain and manage close relationships with managed partners, media, sponsors, exhibitors, buyers and key attendees.
6. Constantly upgrade his/her knowledge of core business, marketing technology, market intelligence, leadership and communication skills.

• Marketing Strategy and Timeline

1. Execute the marketing plan for the event.
2. Develop and craft all activities of the marketing plan of the Event and achieve the objectives set for the activities.
3. Define advertising objectives, recommend choice of media and allocate resources to ensure advertising campaigns are effective, economical and appropriate for intended audience.
4. Plan, execute and own overall digital performance marketing strategy (including but not limited to website development, SEM, social media, SEO, eDM) and be responsible for all marketing KPIs performance.
5. Generate customer experience insights, strategy formulation, lead transformation management, roadmap and planning, analytics/insight generation – towards pre- and post-show.

• Content Development and Maintenance

1. Create and execute marketing content, editorial and marketing plans for social media channels; including Above the Line (ATL) and Below the Line (BTL) promotion materials (website, eDM, advertisements, brochures).
2. Ensure that information on such platforms is kept up to date.
3. Ensure event information are posted and kept up to date on other external promotional platforms.

• Creatives

1. Work with third party creative agency to develop the event key visual, logo and branding and the subsequent KV adaptations required by the event.

• Visitor Promotion

1. Engagement with Associations – Curate partnerships with identified local and overseas associations for forming of delegations to visit the event. To also work with partners to curate delegation programme when delegation visits the event.
2. Roadshows – Work with Project Lead to curate roadshows locally or overseas and execute the plan.

• Media-related

1. Partnerships – Identify suitable media channels to secure partnerships with paid/barter entitlements for event promotion.
2. Media Management – Work with third-party PR agency to execute the media plan and manage media before, during and after the event.

Requirements:

• Preferably with at least 1 year of relevant work experience in event marketing.
• Solid understanding of both online and offline channels.
• Possess good understanding of public relations scope of work, including media management.
• Able to perform high level strategic thinking to creative and detailed execution.
• Proven success in managing complex and multi-faceted marketing programs with the ability to drive projects through completion.
• Proven success in ATL & BTL development and execution.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and autonomously.
• Superior oral and written communication skills.
• Strong in marketing data analytics.
