• The Senior Research Assistant - Psychology works as part of a research team to support the collection, organisation and management of qualitative and quantitative data related to the experiences of children's wellbeing in Singapore in collaboration with our community partner
• Participate in research project management to support the successful achievement of project milestones
• Participate in the design, collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data
• Conduct literature reviews, ensure compliance with research ethics protocols, and maintain accurate records of research data (surveys, interviews)
• Facilitate the dissemination of research outputs, including strategic survey findings, media release, conference presentations, and publications

Criteria:

Essential

• Honours degree in Psychology at a 2A or 1st class level
• Minimum two years of research experience

Desirable

• Masters degree in Clinical, Education and Developmental or Clinical Neuropsychology

• Support and execute activities with the new student airport pick-up and accommodation support services
• Maintain database to track service statuses and engagement rates

Orientation

• Support and execute activities within the new student orientation weeks
• Support and work with various stakeholders such as JCU staff and external vendors to ensure a smooth orientation process
• Maintain database to track engagement rates

Student Clubs

• Support and execute activities for the student clubs such as providing its members support with planning events and activities

Gym

• Support and execute activities for the gym space upkeep and membership applications

Privilege Program

• Support and execute activities for the privilege program including working with external organizations to bring privileges and benefits for students such as discounts at retail stores and food and beverage outlets

Essential Skills Required

Responsibilities

• To plan, supervise the execution, revise and lead in the orientation planning for JCU Singapore.
• Lead and train the Executive Campus Activities in organization of Orientation programmes and other mass activities.
• Compile and vet all necessary documents needed after the orientation and other campus related activities. Plan & schedule medical check-ups & student pass formalities.
• Lead the communications with ICA, medical clinics and other vendors to ensure the students have a seamless experience from reporting till they obtain the student pass.
• To plan, organize and promote a positive Campus experience for the student population so that there is a sense of belonging to JCU Singapore by facilitating students’ participation in diverse enrichment programs to ensure cross cultural learning experience.
• Guide and supervise the Student Council (SC) election and thereafter to guide and advise them to lead and represent the student body by having several significant SC activities.
• Plan and Supervise Club Drive and encourage students to join and participate in the Student Clubs and Societies.
• Oversee the On Campus and Off Campus student events.
• To lead and supervise the Pre-Arrival services so that students could experience a seamless experience starting from the arrival at the local immigration.
• To take charge of the Pre-Arrival Online System and to from time to time, work with the IT to improve on the system based on the feedback collected from the various stakeholders.
• To continuously source and evaluate the performance of the accommodation providers.

Key selection criteria

• Bachelor degree or Diploma with at least 2 years related working experience
• Excellent English communication (both spoken and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Passionate in coaching and supporting students in out-of-the-classroom activities.
• Good team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Active listener with strong problem solving and decision making skills
• Ability to lead a team of student leaders and motivate them
• IT skills – proficient in Microsoft Office software
