In this vital role, you will be engaged with students on an enriching and intensive journey of design education, developing key skills and learning about technologies, trends and their impact on design.

You will be pivotal to equip students in 3D design with great confidence, invaluable skills of critical analysis, design synthesis, communication, and a multidisciplinary approach to the design process.

Main Roles and Responsibilities

The role involves managing and overseeing the delivery of assigned modules for the 3D Design Diploma and Degree Programmes. You will deliver approximately 14 - 18 contact hours of teaching per week, demonstrating a high level of pedagogical competence.

A key part of the role includes contributing to curriculum development, conducting program reviews, and designing learning materials to ensure academic excellence. You will supervise and assess student projects, while also organizing and coordinating artist talks, residencies, trips, seminars, conferences, exhibitions, and other related events to enhance the learning experience.

In addition, you will be responsible for monitoring student progress and providing career guidance, while offering pastoral care and empathetic support to ensure students' overall well-being. Establishing and maintaining strong industry and institutional links is also critical to integrating academic knowledge with real-world industry practices, providing students with valuable professional connections and insights. You will also be required to contribute to interdisciplinary collaboration & research.

Requirements & Qualifications

• You should possess minimally a Master’s degree, preferably in Landscape and Urban Design, with a minimum of five years of teaching experience and/ or industry.
• A proven track record in research, knowledge exchange, or professional practice that advances the field of Landscape, Urban Design & Architecture and aligns with the objectives of the School and Academy is essential.
• To excel in this role, you should possess a positive, enthusiastic, and inspiring attitude, with the ability to engage students in their learning.

Review the operations of the Engineering Department to ensure the quality of broadcast operations meet industry standards.

The Design Delivery Principal is responsible for design decisions related to a portfolio of datacenter projects which can include: new construction, phased expansion, retrofits and upgrades, acquisition conversions, mechanical and electrical equipment selections, and standards upgrades in either a specific region or globally.

They are an exceptional industry professional progressing towards becoming a recognized expert on datacenter design. The Design Senior Manager critically assesses design decisions with consultation with more senior staff across disciplines and applies required standards and country specific regulations to make the best design choices. They manage the relationship and output of key design partners and equipment suppliers for their assigned projects and critically assess and escalate issues where the relationship with such partners is not meeting expectations.

Responsibilities:

Design Process

• Owns and leads a design process, interacting with Architectural, Mechanical and Electrical Partners (MEPs), and other design partners to deliver a portfolio of world class datacenters with a strong focus on technical excellence, mission critical resilience and cost management
• Reviews and contributes to the development of globally standardized tools, techniques and processes for the management and reporting of the design process
• Works with peers in other regions to drive consistency and technical excellence on design and delivery practices and methodologies
• Thinks and acts in a global manner, considering the applicability of any design decision, innovations or standards changes for all regions

In the regional role:

• Obtains site-specific conditions, utility and infrastructure design, costs and availability of utilities, liaison with planning authorities and local logistics including site logistics during construction and phasing
• Provides locally informed and compliant infrastructure design, supply information to and collaborate with the master planning function
• Provides local design engineering to support site specific changes to templates
• Reviews the masterplan for delivery and submits to senior staff for approval

In the Center of Excellence role:

• Conducts the master planning of expansion portfolio using global design standards and templates; incorporating regional information to apply these to the inception of projects

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Appropriately leverages the center of excellence teams and more senior Design staff to augment their individual technical expertise to ensure all facets of the datacenter design are adequately considered and approved

Project Management

• Indirectly manages experienced electrical and mechanical engineering staff in the Independent Technical Review and Innovation & Development teams to deliver a portfolio of world-class datacenter designs on time and to budge
• Directly responsible for managing the design schedule for assigned projects to ensure on time creation and review of Basis of Designs (BODs), Real Estate Investment Committee (REIC) Submissions, and design documentation for Issued for Permit (IFP) and Issued for Construction (IFC) sets

In the regional role:

• Works together with construction managers, general contractors and subcontractors to deliver projects during construction once the design phase is completed and ensure projects are fully documented and closed out
• Manages, with the aid of the commercial management team, design budgets and controls change management requests during the construction phase, in consultation with the Construction Manager

In the Center of Excellence role:

• Works together with the regional design teams and Construction Managers to deliver Concept Designs and Standards that support the delivery of world class datacenters
• Manages, with the aid of the commercial management team, the costs of the designs to ensure appropriate balancing of cost flexibility and global standardization

Design Oversight

• Stays up to date on advancements in design being investigated by the centers of excellence teams to ensure technologies support future IBX design and construction needs and feeds back information to construction for incorporation of changes
• Ensures designs meet Global Design Standards and the business needs for capacity, density, and function

Qualifications:

• 15+ years’ experience in a Design MEP Firm or in the design team of a Mission Critical Building operator or subcontractor, OR 15+ years’ experience as an Architectural lead in a Mission Critical Architectural Design Practice preferred.
• MSc in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering OR MSc in Architecture is preferred, BSc acceptable or extensive and demonstrable experience in role, Architects to hold RA or AIA
• PE/Chartership desirable but not essential

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The incumbent is SME to RPA process and development.

MAIN DUTIES

• Assist with process discovery and assessment, conduct requirements workshop with various business units to identify potential automation opportunities
• Documenting Software Design Document (SDD) with as-is and to-be solution.
• Support business stakeholder/users to define RPA strategy and delivery plan to ensure smooth implementation
• Assist with assessing risks and device mitigation plan along with key stakeholders
• Set-up infrastructure to ensure the availability of IT infrastructure and Blue Prism platform for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Leads a team of REs, RTOs, QS and document controller and provide direction for field engineering for system-wide MEICA works which include Odour Control & Air Jumper Facilities and Site-Wide Instrumentation Monitoring for DTSS2.
• Site supervision and commissioning of the system-wide MEICA works including coordination and interface with the DTSS2 contractors and PUB.
• Supports the Project Director, Deputy Project Director and Construction Manager in leading a team of technical professionals to deliver construction and programme management services.
• Ensures the Contractor provides consistent quality of works in accordance with approved drawings and contract specifications.
• Resolves construction and commissioning-related issues raised by Client/Contractors.
• Monitors and reports on Contractor’s work progress, schedule and cost performance and safety records.
• Responsible for the review and approval of Contractor submissions which include but not limited to reports, RFI, claims, specification, calculations and drawings.
• Ensures consistent and thorough submittal reviews of the Contractors’ submission have been done throughout the submittal approval process.
• Chairs meetings, lead discussions with Clients and Contractors and prepare meeting notes.
• Assesses and checks on RE’s and RTOs’ certification on the value of work completed, recommend progress payments to be made to Contractor, and monitors the Contractor’s cash flow projection.
• Resolves contractual issues (which include variations and EOT claims) with the Contractor and recommend to the Client for approval.
• Ensures that records of all works including but not limited to tests, inspections, and minutes of meetings are filed in the DTSS2 Project Information Management System.
• Maintains a high profile in HSES by active participation in HSES audits, inspections and reviews.
• Promotes a near-miss reporting culture and ensure lessons learnt from these near-misses are shared across the programme.

Requirements

• Minimum Degree in Mechanical/Electrical engineering or equivalent
• RE registration accredited with the Joint Accreditation Committee (JAC) of the Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES) and the Association of Consulting Engineers Singapore is preferred
• About 10-15 years of relevant experience in Odour/Wastewater/Conveyance Systems and familiar with the associated MEICA works.
• Experience in managing and administering engineering work in multiple disciplines and multiple contract environment
• Broad working knowledge of all engineering disciplines.
