• Teach individual instrumental lessons

• Organize activities for students and their families, including performances and learning journeys

Requirements:

• Have a love for children and a passion for helping them grow through music

• Be able to work alongside and collaborate with our team
• A confident and a patient music educator with demonstrated in-depth knowledge of music and a minimum of a Diploma/Degree in music
• Able to teach until Grade 8
• Minimum 1 year of teaching experience is preferred

We are looking for Preschool Teachers to work in Serangoon North.The Preschool Teacher effectively creates a secure and quality learning environment for the children through nurturing trusting and respectful relationships with them. The Teacher enriches children’s learning by co-designing and implementing a developmentally and culturally appropriate curricula, while effectively integrating innovative teaching and learning practices. The Teacher is proactive and intentional in strengthening partnerships with families and the community, and co-designs collaborative efforts with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve this goal.

Work Functions include:

Plan and implement curriculum and programmes

• Plan developmentally appropriate teaching, learning and caregiving activities aligned to the relevant curricula frameworks.
• Review results of learning needs assessment.
• Guide juniors in engaging children meaningfully in accordance with the curriculum and pedagogical frameworks.
• Customise classroom management strategies.
• Design quality learning environment with developmentally appropriate learning materials and resources.
• Review health, safety, nutritional and hygiene practices in accordance with standards and procedures Identify potential teaching and learning methods, tools and assistive technology based on emerging trends in the sector.
• Evaluate documentations of children's learning and development to better inform planning and teaching.

Build stakeholder relationships and partnerships

• Execute communication strategies and policies to foster a culture of collaboration within the Centre.
• Identify opportunities to collaborate with families to ensure continuity of care and learning between the home and the Centre.

Manage family and community programmes

• Develop outreach activities to promote.
• Centre programmes and services.
• Guide the execution of collaborative projects with families and community stakeholders.
• Evaluate family and community initiatives and programmes for improvements.

Conduct routine caregiving

• Review results of caregiving assessment.
• Review caregiving in accordance with standards and procedures.
• Evaluate routine caregiving improvement opportunities.

Uplift professional practice

• Co-develop appropriate teaching and caregiving methods based on emerging sector trends, technologies and tools.
• Analyse areas for improvements for professional practice.
• Propose improvements to professional development and service quality improvement activities.
• Promote Centre's vision, mission and values.

Job Specifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education –Teaching
• Those with Diploma in Montessori Teaching will have an added advantage.
• Minimum 1 year’s relevant work experience. Those with many years of relevant experience may be considered for Senior Teacher's position.
• Creative, loving and inspiring. A good team player. Possess strong EQ and communication skills. Capable of good classroom management.

Roles & Responsibilities for Speech & Drama Teacher (Full time):

· Plan, prepare and teach lessons in accordance with Julia Gabriel Centre methodology and Speech & Drama programme requirements.

· Provide high quality learning experiences in class for children / teenagers.

· Communicate with parents and provide constructive feedback in line with programme requirements.

· Attend in-house training sessions provided for curriculum related matters and professional development.

· Support curriculum work, research, talks, workshops as required during non-teaching hours.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

● A recognised qualification in Speech & Drama, Theatre or

Communication Skills from Trinity College London or London

Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA) preferred

● Relevant diploma or degree from LASALLE, NAFA, NUS will be

considered.

● Any other professional teaching qualifications in Drama,

Performance or Theatre will be considered

● Minimum 1 year experience in teaching Speech and Drama to

preschool/ primary/ secondary school students.

● Excellent command of spoken & written English.

● Energetic, creative, passionate, good team player.

● Has good communication and interpersonal skills

● Enjoys working with children from ages 3 to 6 and/or 7 to 12 and/or

teenagers from ages 13 to 18
