We are seeking an individual with Structural technical experience for the position of Structural Project Engineer at Fortis Construction Pte. The candidate will be accountable for ensuring the work required such as submittals, RFI’s, coordination drawings, updating documents, etc are complete, ready and approved for the steel subcontractors to perform their scope of work in the strictest of compliance to the contract documents.  This role is focused on managing the structural subcontractor field operations and installation details for a large complex data center project, having stringent technical requirements.

• Evaluates new hazardous materials to ensure compliance to all safety rules and regulations pertaining to the work are conscientiously observed & in compliance.
• Drive deployment of corporate programs independently.
• Oversee Industrial Hygiene Screening for site personnel.
• Leverage continuous improvement processes and tools (CORE) to improve EHS & Facilities performance
• Drive & champion Behavior Based Safety System.
• Conduct trainings to educate organization of best practices and regulatory/corporate requirements when necessary.
• Assist in coordinating with IFM in facilities maintenance and building services.
• Manage site security and access system, ensuring security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly.

Requirements:

• Degree in Safety, Health & Environmental Engineering.
• Specialist Diploma in Occupational Health & Industrial Hygiene is a plus.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the EHS profession. Fresh graduates will be considered for the role.
• Experience in planning, development and implementation of EHS management systems and compliance
• programs.
• Lead and drive hazard identification and risk assessment methodology.
• Good knowledge of local legislation (eg. WSH/NEA/SCDF), BIZSAFE, ISO 14001 & 45001 requirements.
• Fire Safety Manager and/or WSHO is an added advantage.
• Analytical, meticulous, resourceful and able to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
• A team player with good communication, interpersonal and organising skills.

About the role

• 2-year contract (renewable), 5.5day/week (44 hours per week)
• Reports to Geotechnics Manager or Monitoring Manager;
• Maintain and implement ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 Management System effectively;
• Successful delivery of projects from difference service lines according to the quality plan and procedure;
• Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordination and execution of Soil Investigation and Instrumentation projects;
• Supervise and quality control on work delivery
• Attend meetings, write meeting minutes, method statement and liaise with project stakeholders, if required;
• Coordinate with contractors/sub-contractors on site;
• Implementation of the highest practicable standards of Health, Safety and Environmental Performance and maintenance of the Management Systems to ensure compliance with appropriate International Standards;
• Perform field work as required within the specified budget and allocated time;
• Follow business management system and corporate compliance procedure;
• Act as role model for excellence, exceptionalism, quality, responsibility, professionalism and teamwork.

About you

• Degree in Engineering Geology or related discipline
• Min 2 years of working experience in operational control on soil investigation and instrumentation service line
• Experience in LTA, PUB project will be an advantage
• Fresh graduate will be considered for junior role
• Strong technical knowledge in soil investigation, instrumentation and monitoring service line
• Ability to think strategically and follow through on the successful implementation of plans
• Team player and strong problem-solving skills
• Effective communication skills including verbal and written communication
• Detail oriented and strong organisational skills
• Results driven and highly motivated
• Independent and able to deliver under pressured
• Accreditation Certificate for Geologist with GeoSS membership is a must
