Using levitation, we can isolate and control physical systems with unprecedented precision. The rapidly evolving field of levitodynamics studies how these can be used as quantum sensors, and for tests of fundamental physics. Most levitated systems are limited to small masses (nano/microgram). They also involve incoherent optical interactions which scatter rather than reflect light.
