We are looking for a passionate and professional Technical Officer to join our Broadcasting team.
Based in Singapore and reporting to the Assistant Manager, the incumbent will ensure the smooth running of Broadcast Equipment to support the Broadcast Operations.

What You'll Do
- You will ensure the smooth running of Broadcast Equipment to support the Broadcast Operations to bring in live overseas horse racing events from countries that are offered by SPPL to customers via live transmission for screening at our BCC, for retail and remote customers to watch and bet on the races that are taking place in different parts of the world in real-time.
- You will perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of technical equipment, including but not limited to, track lighting, sound systems, video cameras and communication systems.
- You will provide technical support at the Broadcast Operations Centre during daily operations, live/delayed lottery draws and other events organized by SPPL Provide support in systems testing as and when required.
- You should be prepared to respond to emergencies or technical failures during Broadcasting Operations Centre daily operations, to ensure minimum disruptions to the operations.
- You will assist in the setup and configuration of technical equipment for daily operations where applicable, including for events organized by SPPL to ensure that all the systems are operational and meet safety standards.
- You will continuously monitor technical systems to identify and address any potential issues or malfunctions and ensure that all technical systems and equipment comply with the safety standards.
- You will conduct safety inspections and report any safety concerns to the appropriate authorities.
- You will maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs and inspections, keep a log of equipment performance and issues for reference and reporting, manage and track inventory of technical equipment and spare parts, replenish supplies as needed and ensure that equipment is readily available when required.
- You will provide training and guidance to staff on the proper use and maintenance of technical equipment.
- You will liaise closely with 3rd party vendors, service providers and operators ensuring all broadcast systems and services provided are of professional standards and produce broadcast quality, including maintenance contracts, repairs and equipment upgrades.
- You will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to coordinate technical support to ensure smooth daily operations with minimal disruptions.
- You will support the preparation and tracking of department’s annual budget, including but not limited to equipment maintenance and upgrades, and to ensure the section operates within approved budget parameters.
- You will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to understand, develop and execute joint projects/plans to ensure broadcasting optimization and delivery so as to achieve strategic KPIs.
Who You Are
- You will need minimum NITEC in Broadcast Production/Electronics or related.
- You will need at least 2 years related experience in AV setup/broadcast studio/‘live’ production / electronics/video/maintenance or related.
- Knowledge and experience in live-streaming pre/post production is an advantage.
- You should have technical knowledge of broadcast electronics, outdoor filming and television production, and the operations of video cameras, audio consoles, CCU and video server systems.
- You should have knowledge of production technicality.
- You should be skilled in setting up, installation and maintenance of AV systems.
- You should be proficient in videography and video editing software.
- You should be a good team player with a positive attitude.
- You should be able to work rotating shift hours, including weekends and PH, to provide 24/7 support.
