About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Finance professional to take on an important role in driving excellence across the areas of Financial Planning and Analysis as well as compliance with corporate polices and procedures, and statutory requirements. He/She will oversee the budgeting and forecasting processes for the Group. He/She will perform timely and comprehensive variance analysis to identify key causes of business variances for performance measurement purposes. He/She is a subject matter expert in Financial Reporting and Accounting Standards and will be appointed as the designated key person for the ERP system implementation / integration / improvement. Duties will include:

• Oversee all aspects of Financial Planning and Analysis functions including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including annual reporting, ASX compliance, BAS, audit and taxation.
• Business partnering with other departments to ensure financial goals are achieved.
• Advise management on Financial Reporting Standards (FRS) including researching on new/changes to FRS that may impact the Group.
• Manage the ERP system and be the key contact person for any upgrading, migration and integration projects.
• Assist in month-end/quarter-end/half-yearly/year-end closing and reporting.
• Any other ad-hoc duties or projects assigned.

Your Skills & Experience

You will have proven Finance experience in a commercial environment and a skillset including:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent.
• CA qualified
• At least 5 -7 years of working experience with at least 3 - 5 years working in Big 4 audit firms.
• Conversant in FRS and Statutory Reporting requirements
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Netsuite is highly desirable.
• Strong ability to deliver timely and accurate financial reporting to support strategic decision-making.
• Extensive experience in managing financial controls, policies, and procedures, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
• Proficiency in managing financial aspects of the business, including budgeting, cost control, and compliance.

As a senior leader within Vortexa’s Analysis team, you will play a pivotal role in leading and strategising the analysis activities in the Asia Pacific region. With your in-depth market knowledge and thought leadership, you will deliver high-quality, cross-barrel oil market insights and present them in client meetings, conferences and industry panels. You will also shape product and data improvement initiatives, and work closely with our global cross-functional teams to expand our product offerings and support business development.

 Key Responsibilities:

• Market Analysis: Perform cross-barrel market analysis using Vortexa’s proprietary seaborne trade flows & freight analytics data and generate thought-leading insights, reports and presentations for our clients
• Data Analysis: Identify opportunities to enhance Vortexa’s data quality and formulate ideas to transform our complex datasets into strategic insights for our clients
• Client & Public Engagement: Present market views at client meetings and industry events to demonstrate Vortexa’s expertise, and work with the Commercial team to support market-related queries

Requirements:

Degree or diploma and aptitude relevant to Broadcast Engineering (specializing in Broadcast Engineering, including System / Audio Engineering / IT or any other related area).

Safety Knowledge: Good knowledge of the principles of safety at work as applied in the TV industry.

Understanding of OB Systems: Understanding of Outside Broadcast systems and environment.

Knowledge and experience of operating and troubleshooting a range of OB equipment in sound, communication, IP, etc.

Review the operations of the Engineering Department to ensure the quality of broadcast operations meet industry standards.

Remain up-to-date with outdoor broadcast technology and equipment.

Guide the Assistant Engineers to read technical (Auto CAD) engineering drawings and plan for their training where needed.

Ensure procedure for video equipment testing and preparation is in place.

Ensure adequate processes are in place for communication / escalation of technical related problems that arise during a project.

Keep Engineering environment (Warehouse, Engineering Room and desks) clean, functional, safe and presentable.

Ensure compliance of engineering procedures with Health & Safety guidelines.

Supervise and schedule maintenance of specific categories of broadcast equipment to ensure the equipment are fully functional and well maintained (internally and externally clean/dust-free).

Monitor physical and technical quality and appearance of broadcast equipment. Prepare the maintenance & improvement report.

Plan and maintain a list of specific categories of broadcast equipment which require scheduled maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare monthly management reports (vs budget) and rolling forecasts, track business financial performance and perform related financial analysis for business reviews.
