• Manages and supervises all members in the Finance department for two hotel properties.
• Assists and provides financial guidance in the formulation and implementation of Strategic Plan, Budget and Key Performance Objectives, Cash flow projection and performance through controls on inventory, credit and collection, disbursements, deposits and remittances.
• Prepares monthly position of actual results against budget, analyse results and recommend to Executive Committee Members measures required to meet budget
• Prepare consolidated quarterly position assessments for the General Manager
• Communicate with Owners
• Evaluate and employ internal control measures that apply to accounting procedures and computer systems
• Manage internal and external audits when they occur
• Provides administrative support to Management with reference to policy enforcement, business advice and operational assistance
• Obtains appropriate legal counsel regarding the business practices of the hotel and maintains an awareness of local laws, rules and regulations
• Capital expenditure compliance and approval
• Recommends and maintains appropriate list of delegation of authority for hotel management
• Reviews prices and recommends pricing strategy to the General Manager
• Implements and maintains acceptable accounting practices and procedures as required by InterContinental Hotels Group Policy, generally accepted accounting practices, and as affected by local conditions

As the Personal Assistant (PA) to the Finance Director, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of the finance department by providing high-level administrative and organizational support. This position requires exceptional multitasking skills, confidentiality, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diary Management: Schedule and manage the Finance Director's appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements.
• Administrative Support: Handle incoming emails, phone calls, and correspondence on behalf of the Finance Director.

Job Description

Finance

• Develop and implement the company’s financial policies and procedures. This includes setting the budgets, managing cash flow, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
• Oversee the company’s accounting and reporting functions. This includes ensuring that financial statements are accurate and timely, and that taxes are filed correctly.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities. This information can be used to make informed decisions about the company’s operation and investments.
• Manage the company’s financial risk. This includes hedging against price volatility and other financial risks.
• Advise the CEO and other senior management on financial matters. This includes providing insight into the company’s financial performance and helping them make strategic decisions.

Reporting to the CEO

• Carry out annual renewal exercise to promptly place out the insurance and reinsurance programme
• Work with the Clusters/Institutions and broker to collate the necessary underwriting information for the annual renewal
• Review new insurance programmes to be undertaken by HMPI, as necessary
• Monitor and manage the financial and operational well-being of HMPI
• Analyse claims to identify key trends and risk areas
• Carry out actuarial and analytical studies on historical claims data, with the help of professional actuarial consultants as needed
• Categorise claims into logical grouping for analysis and ease of future referencing
• Participate in quarterly claims meeting with broker and reinsurers to review claims and determine reserve
• Liaise with Clusters/Institutions and stakeholders on claims matters
• Plan and organise trainings on medico-legal claims for doctors and Clusters/Institutions
• Identify and work with training providers on the provision of trainings, including the curation of content, billing matters, administration, etc.

• Prepare and conduct AGM and Board meetings
• Conduct tenders for procurement activities of HMPI in accordance with company procurement policy

Requirements

• Tertiary education, with relevant working experience in general insurance.
• Good number crunching and financial modelling skills

Deputy Managing Director:

• Assume the responsibilities of the Managing Director in their absence.

Finance Director:

• Serve as an internal leader, overseeing all financial aspects of the company.
