We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Risk Analyst to join a leading commodity trading company. The Analyst will play a crucial role in the production of daily P&L reports, consolidation of all trade book reports and risk management

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitoring the trading activity; highlight and report unusual activity.
• Manage physical commodity and derivative deal entries to ensure an accurate valuation
• Resolving queries from traders or other departments relating to P&L-impacting topics
• Production of daily P&L reports and consolidation of all trade book reports
• Analyse, reconcile, and manage hedge instruments: Futures, OTC Swaps and Forwards.
• Summary reporting (e.g. weekly, monthly) on key analytics
• Raising queries to traders when proposed booking changes or business practices are unclear
• Responsibility for the relationship with clearing brokers and clearing banks
• Support risk management (Market and Credit risk)
• Working with the Treasury team to ensure the impacts are expected and hedges are correct or executed when required (Calculate the impacts of IR and FX on P&L)
• Supporting Finance in month-end financial closing processes explaining any provision requirements for the business

Job Requirements:

• Bachelors’ degree in Finance with 3 years experience in Market Risk

Department Description:

The Finance Service Unit (“DFIN”) coordinates the Finance Line and ensures the Group’s financial production, steering and management via a number of complementary missions:

• support business lines, service units and general management in terms of financial and strategic steering
• ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and obligations
• ensure monitoring and steering of P&L and scarce resources performance (capital, liquidity, balance sheet) in keeping within strategic objectives and in compliance with regulatory obligations
• ensure regulatory watch on topics pertaining to scarce resources, accounting and finance.

Responsibilities:

Regulatory monitoring and reporting:

• Responsible for daily MAS and SGX regulatory monitoring including analysis of ratios
• Responsible for weekly and fortnightly MAS reporting and submission and SGX weekly credit facilities reporting and submission.

Financial and management reporting:

• Responsible for performing month-end closing controls
• Perform in-depth analysis on financial performance/key metrics and prepare reports for local management and business lines
• Support manager in other controls and governance, statutory and other audits of entities
• Responsible for accounts payable function, including oversight of outsourced Procure-to-pay function

ALM and tax reporting:

• Contribute to the ALCO deck preparation
• Responsible for preparation of quarterly GST reporting for entities
• Contribute to annual corporate income tax return and transfer pricing document preparation

Profile Required:

Academic Background and Certifications, Experience:

• University degree in Accountancy.
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in the banking industry
• Knowledge of regulatory reporting in the banking industry would be an advantage

Job Description:

• Manage the Group’s Cashflow which includes but not limited to cashflow optimization, cashflow forecast, management of expenses and expenditures, budgeting, consolidation and P&L forecast, debt management and collection.
• Monitor the Group’s optimal level of funds with effective oversight of monies in the banks for its procurement activities, day-to-day operations and unexpected expenses at all times.
• Perform monthly group consolidation and results analysis.
• Develop risk management/control strategy by taking into consideration all aspects of the Group’s business.
• Develop and implement financial strategies, including risk minimization plans, opportunity forecasting and cost enhancement measures.
• Oversee the group financial reports and manage all audit related matters.
• Provide ROI analysis for the Group’s overseas investments and providing advice for the Group’s investment and expansionary decisions.
• Oversee GST and income tax matters, including tax planning.

• Provide recommendations on maximizing returns on excess funds (Eg: Managing cash deposit rates, loan rates, FX conversion).
• Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing insights, constructive feedbacks and recommendations to the management for improving profitability, liquidity and overall financial health.
• Build and maintain relationship with our bankers and liquidity providers.
• Any other ad-hoc duties related to the Company’s business activities and related to the role.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA qualification is strongly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a Financial Controller (experience within precious metals / commodity trading is a plus).
• Strong understanding of the dynamics and challenges inherent in the precious metals market, including price fluctuations, supply chain complexity, and regulatory environments is an advantage.
• Proficient in financial forecasting, budgeting, and analysis.
• Possess knowledge and experience for accounting in China is a must.
• Solid knowledge of internal controls, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience in managing financial audits and working with external auditors.
• Advanced proficiency in financial reporting tools and ERP systems, with the ability to leverage on technology to drive process improvements.
