Project Overview

The Antimicrobial Resistance Interdisciplinary Research Group (AMR IRG) is a unique translational research and entrepreneurship program aimed at solving the growing threat of resistance to antimicrobial drugs. Successful applicant will join our Time & Frequency Laboratory and be responsible to develop a broad range of solutions that enable progress in cutting-edge science of optical clocks that could lead to the SI Second being redefined. Together with the team from CQT, NUS, the applicant will take the ownership to jointly develop a Lu+ optical clock.

More specifically, the applicant will be involved in the design and development of atom/ion experimental setups, including frequency stabilized laser systems, data acquisition systems and software for experimental control & analysis. The applicant is expected to have a leadership role in the project and develop the project towards the goal of establishing international clock comparisons with Lu+.

Apart from this project, the applicant will also need to contribute to cutting-edge projects with potentially transformative impact. This includes our work on the next generation of optical atomic clocks, exploring options for a practical realization of the upcoming redefinition of the SI second, and investigate new applications of high-performance timekeeping.
